    Completed 3 rounds in 40 something minutes. I usually don’t forget my time but this one was physically AND mentally tiring!

  9. The video is priceless.. I didn’t cry but I did get some dust blown into my eyes around the same time as I watched it, so it may have appeared that I was crying! :).     1. That’s weird, you had dust blown in your eyes, I was cutting an onion and stubbed my toe, which led to some eye moisture. The manly kind.

  17. I’ve been a member of a lot of gyms and a lot of groups and teams, and I have never felt the sense of “community” and togetherness that CrossFit brings to the table.
    Whether struggling through a WOD or through a hiccup in life, it’s nice to find a place where people push you when you need a push, and help you up when you need a hand.

    1. lol, yes. Not because I don’t like them, it’s just that I don’t like to invade someone’s personal space…I couldn’t help it last night though. And at the end when I told Jo to shut the camera off it was so that I could go give her one too, lol.

      AND I was sweaty and filthy, they were both very lucky to have a hug from me last night. 🙂

  20. Saturday: 11km run: Foggy and cool!

    Sunday: 12 km run: Foggy and misty rain! Hands were freezing!

    Monday: 12km run: Fog was so dense, I could barely see my feet! lol!

    Today: 12km run: Foggy and cool! Needed to wear my running gloves!

    Great newfie weather here on the rock! I hear you guys are experiencing a heat wave in Moncton!

    Sad to be missing Eva today as she is one of my favorite ladies (other than Laura of course!) I’ll give her a go this month’s change for change!

    1. While in NFLD earlier in JUNE!! it was zero degrees the day I ran in St Johns. I had to buy wool mittons (very cute with puffins knit in to them) – I should have lent them to you so you’d look like a crazy tourist 🙂

    I still can’t believe you have done this. I’m humbled beyond words! I’m overwhelmed and feel so lucky to belong to such a supportive community. I’ve never been on the receiving end of such an incredible act of kindness & generosity, and it’s hard to absorb.

    Last night I was calculating how much I thought I lost in total, and I think there’s a little more in the envelope than what I lost. I don’t know if I’ve accounted for everything but I don’t want to be greedy and the bulk of what I lost is covered so I’m going to return a bit of it tonight to the Change for Change bucket, I don’t want to take more than what was taken from me and those donations will be needed for another cause soon enough too.

    As I said to Kevin last night, just saying thank you doesn’t seem enough for touching my life in such a big way. I’m truly honored to know all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

      Only got through 4 rounds, was 26 seconds from being able to attemp the 5 round, my body balked and made sure I went over the 36 minute barrier so I couldn’t go back out? Lol just know one pull up at a time wouldn’t get it done!

    I was able to finish 4 rounds in 40:08 ! First round was ok, second round I kept thinking to myself “What the…”, third round I was focussing not to puke and fourth round I was focusing not to faint. This was a hard one. Nick, happy you did not puke because I would have probably joined you hahaha !!!

    Little disappointed. I really thought i could finish all 5 rounds especially scaled at 53lbs. I quickly humbled by the heat. Cudos to all who finished it!!

    1. The heat added another element of difficulty, for sure. There should be bonus points for that…

    2. Wow i just looked back and 2 years ago i finished it in 43:10 with the same weight. Back to the drawing board?

    Every time I do not leave by ambulance is a successful day for me at crossfit.

  36. First Oly class tonight. VERY much enjoyed it. Shoulder started to act up a bit so kept the weight down and concentrated more on technique. Really helpful. Good sharing the bar with ya Rob. As brutal as watching the 5:30 crew do Eva. i still wanna try it. Thinking change for change or an open gym sometime. Awesome job for everyone who did it.

    Classic crossfit WOD for me: running to keep me humble; KBS to give me hope; pull ups to remind me that progress is being made. Horrible stitch in my side while running in round 2 that I never really was able to shake, so I was really happy to get through 3 rounds. But hey, made it through without tearing my hands – also a good thing!

    Great job 5:30 crew; some insane results and some real heart. Hardly wait for tomorrow’s mayhem!

    30 KBS @35# (oops…afflicted with Jeff’s disease and didn’t read the board)
    30 pullups (did about 10 unassisted and then grabbed a medium band)
    4 rounds in 39:35

    I’m a bit disappointed because I did this last August and used 40# for KBS, did pullups with same size band and ran an extra 800m in the 45:00 time cap. There were no partial rounds counted today so there was no point starting into the run for round 5.

    On a positive note, however, I still got one hell of a workout, AND my hands didn’t tear! That’s a PR for me 🙂

    Awesome work 5:30 crew! Great way to kick off “Ladies month”.
