  1. Braved the storm & and visited my fam in SJ – while here stopped in at good Ol’ CFSJ and did a WOD I made up with my good friend Jon Ross

    I’ll call this one
    “Patriots win the SuperBowl” haha
    Or maybe “Super 7s”

    7 Rounds for time:
    7 C&J 100#
    7 deadlifts 185#
    7 pullups
    7 HRPU
    7 BJ 24″
    Time: 15:40

I liked this WOD: happy with it as I was thoroughly tired afterwards!!! 🙂

SUPEEBOWL PARTY at my place on Sunday: potluck style, and Giants Fans have to stand! Maybe a Coed Flag football game in the snow at 3:00 if enough people were interested !!! We only need 8-10 ppl!! Let me know gang!!!

  2. Mobility + 20 OHS against the wall

    Burgerner warm-up as a group

    Squat Snatch
    65×5, 75×3, 75×3, 85×2, 95×2, 105×1, 115×1, 115×1, 120×1.

  3. Kevin your photo captions this week are cracking me up!

Today was my first time doing squat snatches, that I can remember. They’re not my favorite. 😉

    Squat Snatches:
    7 x 45
    3 x 55
    3 x 60
    5 x 65
2 x 70, with many failed attempts before & in between. Made lots of progress though…these are clearly something that require a lot of practice.

  4. Snatch day x2

    Squat snatch
    45 65 75 85 95 (got 95 today with a small pressout, had missed yesterday)

Continued on with Clean & Jerks (split)
    45 65 75 85 95 105 115 125 130 PR for Jerk and C&J together

  5. Mob. + 20 OHS against the wall

    Snatch Day!

    3 x 55
    3 x 65
    2 x 75
    2x 75
1 x 85 … many many times, having a hard time to drop in a full squat when I get to that weight. I know I can power snatch more than that, but I have a hard time doing the squat snatch so lowered the weight

1 x 65 many many times again, and still had a hard time landing in a full squat… grr!

Thanks Mario and Frankie for sharing the bar.. And Mario, just so you are aware, you were one of those big dogs throwing weight around tonight, nice work!

  15. Squat Snatch:
    35 x 5
    45 x 5
55 x A whole bunch….I lost track working on my form
    60 x 3
    65 x 3

Difficult move for sure. Lots of big weight being tossed today. Can’t wait to see what’s in store tomorrow.

    55 x 5
    65 x 3
    75 x 2

    110 x 1 (1f) (PR 10#)

Did a few more at 95 just to work on technique a bit.

A fun one. Very impressive/inspiring to see the big guys go at it. Technique is a work in progress, but I felt a lot stronger this time getting under the weight.

  18. Mob x 1
    Burgener wu x 3

    Squat Snatch
up to 100lbs, 10# under from power snatch pr. Need more practice

    Clean & Jerk

  19. Burgener WU x 3

    Squat Snatch

    45 x 5
    95 x 3
    135 x 3
155×1 It was at this point we discovered I was not really doing the squat part.
145 x 1 a bunch of times trying to get to a decent drop.
95 x 1 about a half dozen times until there was a decent improvement.
125 x 1 a few times more for good measure.

Thanks for the help tonight Patrick, I think by the end we had built a marginally acceptable form on this tricky lift. At least I understand what I was doing wrong and what I need to work on. Looking forward to applying the drop to my squat cleans. I plan on continuing to practice the drop on my own till it gets more comfortable.

  20. WU (Burgener) x 3

First time doing squat snatch, really technical move and I have to practice OHS.
