Running your own race

Seth Godin is one of my favorite authors. He has a daily blog that I read and a recent article struck me. It’s about running your own race and not letting competition drive you. Have a read through it and let me know if you think it relates to CrossFit.

  1. WU x2
    OHS – 3 sets @ 65#

    4 Rounds
    10 HSPU – kipping
50 Mountian Climbers (subbed DUs because I’m not allowed to do anything that will have impact on my shins)

  2. Back Squats x10 (kept light)

    WOD as rx’d

No pr today. Must be the extra weight I brought back from Switzerland. Damn you chocolate!!

    1. No bruises, good thing I was wearing pants yesterday. I rubbed “pain away” a essential oil all over my legs when I got up.. Soreness went away, I’m walking almost normal now!

    2. The pain is worsening by the hour (and it’s not even noon yet)… Butt and Quads are the worst, and my calves are sore too. Plus still feeling soreness in the arms/traps from Monday’s snatches.

Trying to drink lots of water today… BUT, that means going to the washroom more often, which also means standing up and sitting down more often…( slow motion)…OUCH!! 😕

BUT, still really glad to have accomplished all 400 lunges! 🙂

      1. I’m trying to be happy with the fact that many 30 year olds couldn’t do 400 lunges. Of course going to the bathroom, picking up pens etc probably aren’t issues for them today either. And seriously…DU’s today?

      1. HA HA HA !!!

Awesome post! Laughed out loud in the office… 🙂

FYI: There’s a scripting issue with this site…my info had all of Patrick’s info (Email, Name, Website), probably because he was the last poster when I opened the page, so double-check that section before you post 😉

  3. I’ve told my students “In the event of a fire…save yourselves!” (Everyday I’m shuffling, I’m shuffling 🙂 )

Really happy that I almost felt no pain doing the back squats. Should of used at least #45 or 50 in the workout… but somehow didn’t feel confident. Next time I will!

Tough on the legs after yesterday. I was tired in the first round!
Figured out today that lunges make me stupid…I completely missed that shoulder press was the scale for HSPU. Couldn’t understand why so many people had a bar out for the workout
    🙁 I guess I’ll call that a “lunge hangover”.

  11. CFWU x 2
    Front squat 1’s

WOD as Rx’d -> 12:55PR Last time was 19:43 but all HSPU where strict back then.
