I’ve been going to Crossfit Moncton for exactly a year now. I’ve seen a crazy amount of progress from a lot of members. Owen, Jeremy, Tim, Gerry come to mind but there are many others. I used to consider myself one of the “fast ones” in the club. Now it seems that EVERYBODY is fast and I’m just barely keeping up.
To all the new members, if you ever get discouraged because other members are so fast, strong, and you feel like you’ll never be like them, I SWEAR they were all weak and slow like you when they started.
To Chantal: When did you get so fast?? and unassisted ring dips??? WTF???
To Jeff: please teach me how to do double unders
To Gillyon: You used to be my rabbit. Now you’re just like my shadow. I can never catch you.
To Jamie: When will you ever hit a plateau??? 400lbs deadlift soon?
To Liam, Marcel and Marc: Please don’t take off your shirt when my wife is around. You’re killing me here.

You’re crazy if you think you are not fast. I’ve been chasing you since the day I started. What happens is our perception of “fast” keeps changing as we get better. We want more and that’s why we keep going back. You’re the ‘target’ for many of us each day! 🙂

Happy Anniversary! Thanks for introducing me to CrossFit! We all have strengths, a lot of different body types. At the end of the day it really doesn’t matter about your time and reps as long as you do your best and keep good form so you don’t get hurt. I have to admit, it’s fun chasing you in the workouts!

i completely agree with Patrick too. there are some folks around the gym that started not long after i did with kevin in the park a few years back that are crazy now. here are a few members i’ve seen have major gains…
Gillyon – was always quick but i could keep up sometimes with her before – now she’s out of this world
MC – WOW, from barely a jumping pull up to chest to bar pull ups
kevin – he’s always been quick, but he’s actually gained weight too (and of course lifts like a madman now too) – i’m sure i’ll be paying for that comment somehow
Raychell – from first workout pukie to banging them out consistently and with such determination – awesome heart and big gains
Corinna – a power house, quick and agile with those double unders
i’ve met alot of new faces since being back at the gym the past few months, and everyone’s efforts are very motivating and keep me coming back for more and pushing harder than ever.

It’s YOU that makes the gym. The business is just 4 walls and a bunch of equipment. It’s your cheering, swearing, conversations, setting PR’s, and energy that make it what it is.
I was telling a few people the other day…you’ve all progressed so much since you started. I need to start getting heavier stuff and prescribing tougher wods so it’s not too easy.
