Start by drawing the top card and do that many reps of the suit. Example, if you draw the 9 of Hearts, you’re doing 9 burpees. Face cards are all worth 10! The goal is to get through the whole deck as fast as you can.
All those pullups will do amazing things to your hands 🙂

What a HOT evening! We had 8 brave souls come out tonight and battle a great workout in the blistering heat. Luckily, we found some shade to take cover.
We worked on proper squat form for some time. Everybody’s squatting improved tremendously in the short amount of time we practiced. I was very impressed!
The workout: Tabata squats, situps and pushups. (Tabata is 20 seconds of work, followed by 10 seconds of rest…for 8 rounds. The round with the lowest amount of reps is your final score for each exercise.) Again, very impressed with everyone’s effort!
The CrossFit Games in Aromas, California are complete and the results are in.

Jason Khalipa had an amazing come-from-behind victory!
I’d like to congratulate Anthony and Jodi Bainbridge from CrossFit Fredericton for showing the world that us New Brunswicker’s are tough shit. Anthony placed 16th overall, and Jodi came in 35th overall. You are both extremely talented athletes. Congratulations!!!
Thank you very much to everyone that came out to support CrossFit Moncton!!!
CrossFit Moncton’s Kick-off was a huge success with 20 participants in a gruesome workout. We threw a pile of exercises into a bin, shook it up, and drew them out. Here’s what went on:
-Run 200m forward
-50 Medicine ball cleans
-40 Wall balls
-30 Dumbbell swings
-20 Box jumps
-Run 400m backwards
It was a killer leg workout, but awesome nonetheless. I believe Daniel Doiron had the winning time of 11:30min. Everyone did amazing!!!
I’d like to thank Jeanette for helping me out today. Krista, for her awesome photography. Mom and Dad for helping with the setup and taking care of the BBQ. And everyone else that came out for support.
Hope you all make it back again! Bring a friend too!
Drawing the exercises
50 MedBall Cleans and 40 Wall balls are nothing to smile about
Saturday, July 5th ! Mark it on your calendar. CrossFit Moncton will be kicking off the summer in true CrossFit style.
The crowd will be gathering at 11am at Queen Elizabeth School playground, socializing, filling out waivers and all that jazz. Directions can be found under the “Location” link at the top. The Workout of the Day (WOD) will start at 12 noon. It will be a ‘Hopper’-style workout. For those of you that are unaware of what that means, I’ll put a bunch of exercises into a bin, shake it up, pull some out, and then we do them. Completely random, which is one of the main principles of CrossFit.
If you would like to participate in this WOD, please contact me ASAP. There is no charge. Free. Gratuit. Come try it out, see what CrossFit Moncton is all about. We are “everything you hated in gym class”!
Even if you’re not participating, come check us out anyway!! There’s going to be a BBQ and CAKE!!!
