The CrossFit PEI team won the PEI (Prince Edward Island) Marathon Corporate Relay recently. Without any training except for CrossFit, they entered an eight person team and finished first out of 42 teams! Now, that’s validation.
Let’s see how we do at the Cross Country meet this weekend!
There is a 5km race for women and a 6km race for men on Saturday, October 25th. The women start at 10am, while the men start at 10:30.
All races will be held on the U de Moncton soccer fields and the arboretum behind the residence LaFrance. The course is grass with uneven footing and quite hilly.
The cost is $10 per individual. Participants are asked to complete their registration on-line by going to the Athletics NB website at www.anb.ca and clicking on the on-line registration section. This will be open until October 23. When entering your Team Name on the second page of the registration, choose “Independant“. If you register the day of the race, you will be charged a late entry fee of $5. You’ll need to sign-in at the meet before your race. The sign-in is open starting at 8:30am. I would suggest getting there at least 30min before your race time.
The top 3 finishers in each age class (Juvinile, Junior, Senior, Masters) will receive medals.
Student therapists will be available on site. CEPS building is available for changing/shower. Washrooms (port-a-potties) will be located on site and at Champlain library across the street.
CrossFit Moncton will be closed on Saturday, as some members will be participating in this event. This is a great way to put our training into practice, so come on out and join us. If you have any questions, please contact me.
If you’ve been avoiding eggs because of concerns linking them to dietary cholesterol and coronary heart disease, it’s time to reconsider. The latest research shows that healthy adults can enjoy an egg every day without increasing their risk of heart disease.
According to the American Heart Association, lutein found in egg yolks also protects against the progress of early heart disease.
