Open 14.1

Remember all the times I said if you never do double unders, you’ll never get better. I hope you listened. We did 11.1 (which is 14.1) on Feb.6. We’ve also been working doubles and snatches like crazy for the last 3 months. Let’s see it pay off tonight.

    Open WOD 14.1 Rx = 5 + 8 P.Snatch (263 reps) Exactly matched my PR.

    WOD: burpees over box (was not a pretty sight….my fear of box jumps continues!!! I need to overcome this! Did about 7 box juumps and then did walk over box jumps!

    Total burpees: 53

    Really fun WOD! It was awesome having my little girl watch me – gave me incentive to keep going during that last minute.

    Can’t wait for the Open tonight!! I’m so excited to see all the PRs tonight!!! πŸ™‚

    3 rounds even (135).

    Doubles just weren’t clicking tonight, but the last time I did this I only did 10 DUs + 60 singles each round so even though it was a few reps less I would call it an improvement.

    Thanks to everyone for the encouragement, it really helped me push through the last round.

    Fun night great energy and strong performances, but all that was eclipsed by Gillyon’s muscle up !

  15. 178 reps! Did Cleans & push presses as gently as I could muster to try to save my injured shoulder, so far so good. And come to think of it I think I did better than I would have doing snatches anyway. Thanks Kevin.

    Fun night. Highlight was Gilly’s muscle up. that was so much fun.

  18. 14.1 – 180 reps (4 rounds) … 8 reps PR from a few weeks ago. Pumped about this! The only thing I did different was go to C&J when I was tired.

    Gillyon’s MU. WAAAAAAAAAH and the crowd goes willlllld!!! πŸ™‚ What a great night!

    1. yeah going to the C&J helped me out too. the snatch was fast but there is no reason to stop with C&J. Congrats on the PR Chantal!

    SUPER HAPPY with this. Revenge on 11.1 is complete.

    Feb 6, 2014 – 4 rounds + 1 PS (211) @ 65#
    June 14, 2012 – 3 round + 8 PS (173) Rx

    Had a good pace and breathing wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

    Pretty happy with this. Did all snatches since they didn’t feel heavy and wasn’t til the last round that I felt really out of breath Fran style but I wanted to get those last reps in so I stuck with the snatch.

    Something magical about platform 11 at the back – hope I get to be there again!

    3 Rounds + 10 C & J = 175 reps

    Had a goal of 4 rounds, so fell a bit short. DU’s went well except in the 3rd round when they went to hell & cost me reaching 4 rounds. Did 1st round & part of 2nd with snatches, then switch to C & J. No PR, as I made it to 4 rounds on this WOD back in October.

    in February, I had just written down my PR for double unders. It was 11. After this WOD, I now have a PR for doing 87 DU total!!!
