Meet David

3 rounds of:
9 Curtis P’s (95/65#)
Run 800m
50 Double Unders

Compare to Oct.26/10

David is one of our newer members. He came to us looking to lose a few inches and get in shape. He also had a bet – could he lose 40 pounds in 2 months? He hits every workout very hard, changed his eating habits and even does some kettlebell training on the side. This past weekend, he stepped on the scale – 40.7 pounds lost.

Congrats David on all your hard work. Keep it up!

  1. The guy Dave was up against didn’t make it easy for him either. Dave’s competitor had actually sent pizza to our office for Dave to indulge into halfway through the bet. Pretty funny, and after a few too many expletive words, Dave used it to fire himself up. Way to go Dave for staying focused!

  2. I have worked out with Dave several times…and he pushes hard. Keep up the awesome work! 40 pounds..?..that is intense!

For all parents considering CF Kids: I gave my boys the option today of going home to swim and skipping CF Kids. They weren’t interested!

  11. That was probably the hardest CrossFit WoD I have ever done.

    WOD as Rx’d
    35:00 DNF – 2 rounds and 24 Double Unders

It was a tough WOD, but I (perhaps stubbornly) stuck to my Double Unders and it cost me a LOT of time. On a positive note I did string together 5 double unders three times throughout the WOD, which is only 1 shy of my PR of SIX.
I’m not even that disappointed as I know I gave it everything I had…I just need to get those darn DUs.

That’s why I think I love CrossFit so much…there’s always SOMETHING to work on!
Thanks for the encouragement everyone, and to Jeff for counting for me at the end!

    1. Never give up Blake. So what for the DNF. You’ll finish it next time it comes up. You gave it everything and you got a great work out.

    2. Way to stick with those doubles in the WOD Blake! Giving it everything you had is a victory in my books! The DUs will come…

    3. Thanks guys, it certainly was a great workout!
I had to rage a little so I went out and did 15km on the mountain bike…
Thank God I got that nice foam roller today!

    WOD: 3 rounds
    9 Curtis P’s (RX 65) 55#’s

    50 DU’s

Time 35:13 (Was 42 DU’s at 35 min mark, so yeah I was going to finish.)

I agree with Blake – “That was probably the hardest CFT wod I have ever done.” Hardest part was lunges, but strangely my shoulders are already hurting even though the Push press seemed easier than everything else.

Probably a good night to try an ice bath, but sadly šŸ™‚ I don’t have time.

Nice job RX’d Blake; nice to have someone sucking wind with me at the end!

    1. You have such amazing determination Heather. I arrived at the gym during your last round of this WOD and I could instantly see that despite the pain storm you were experiencing, you were going to finish come hell or high water! I am so proud of you for completing this one as Rx and you should be very proud of yourself!

    2. Impressive Heather. Not finishing for the sake of 8 DU’s would have been soooo wrong. Way to push through on this tough WOD.

    3. Well done Heather! Sorry I missed it šŸ™ You always give these WODs everything you have, and tonight was no exception. I’m proud of you for sticking it out and finishing it off!

    4. Nice work heather, so impressed that you stuck with this one.. No bullshit, no other shoe, just flat out impressed by you!

    5. Thanks guys. I knew starting the 3rd round that the 35 minute mark was coming at me way too fast but I didn’t have anything left to move any faster. Tough wod, and no doubt going to feel worse tomorrow!

    Time 34:02 –

I had checked the website around 9 am, so I had it in my head that 16 minutes was the average time to finish in. When I only had 3 minutes until 35, I was relieved that it was over in 3 minutes no matter what, but really discouraged too. Actually, knowing it was a 35 minute workout would have probably got me just as frustrated, today was just not my day. Low on energy! Thank you Corinna & Laura, so much, I appreciate that alot. You kept me agoing! for sure. You were right Corinna, I am really happy I finished it!

Not too sure if Dave checks the website, but way too go Dave!!! Your progress is inspirational!!!! Way to go, way to go, way to go!!! Great job!

    1. You should be very proud of yourself E! You must stop being so hard on yourself and realize that every day you walk through the doors at CFM proves time and time again how strong you actually are. They fact that you are even coming to CFM and completing these crazy ass WOD’s despite a medical condition that you have to live with for the rest of your life makes you one of a kind! Even though you feel weak, exhausted, nauseas, etc., on a daily basis, you still show up at the gym and give it your all when it would be very easy for you to stay home. Hold your head high E, and be proud of what you are accomplishing!

    2. Not your day??? What are you talking about Girl? You did great….and did this Rx’d to boot. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Remember, you are just recently back to the gym and you’ve been fighting a big battle. You should proud of yourself.

    3. You did awesome tonight E! This WOD was killer, and despite not feeling your best, you kicked butt! Well done šŸ™‚

    4. Elissa, you are a great example of the need to keep moving forward even when you are fighting illness. You are strong.

This is the third time I’ve done this WOD, but I didn’t remember how tough it was. (Kind of like child birth I guess). Today was the first time I did it with DU’s, so I was really happy to finally do the WOD completely Rx’d, and a PR of 1:25 to boot. So a good night at the gym. Brutal WOD, but still really liked it.

And Dave….I’ve not met you, but WOW….40 lbs in 2 months!!! Nice work. You must be very determined. Keep it up. I’m sure we’ll meet eventually.

    1. Congrats Heidi! Heavy lifting too!
I don’t know about all of you, but I am starting to feel my ass from those lunges already.

    2. Congrats on doinf this one RX Heidi. Running those 3 rounds of 800m with you brought me right back to our 6:00 a.m. running WOD’s a while back. Nice chatting with you tonight..smiles..

  25. Wow.. What to say about this..
The reason I love this sport sooo much? From hero to zero in 24 hours.. Lol, I handed the WOD yesterday it’s walking papers.. Today, I got my ass handed to me by the next WOD.. Awesome! The one thing that remained the same? Amazing CFM ers, last night cheering me on to try and get 17 round done, tonight.. Finishing dead last everyone coaxing me through the last of my DU..I was feeling the love, really doesn’t matter where you finish, just finish, or do your best! That’s all that’s required! Awesome night at CFM.. Love this sport, and love our box!!

    1. So proud of you for sticking with the doubles and giving it your all šŸ™‚
