Coach! Would it be possible to have a snatch practice? Tomorrow maybe? We don’t do them very often and it would be really nice to have a refresher before WOD 12.2. 🙂
For those competing, we have options available to work on the lift.
Kevin, is there a standard scaling % to start? Or should I just plan on the 45/75/100/120 increments?
My max from our snatch practice last month was 110 or 120.
I am hoping to try this this afternoon if there are judges around.
Those are the women’s weights you listed. The men’s is 75-135-165-210.
You’ll be doing 30 at 75, then fighting your ass off to get a 135.

My thoughts exactly, Not sure how I’m going to lock 135 over my head, but I’m sure I’ll have some time to try.
FYI Kevin, I plan on doing 12.2 at the 4:15 class and ‘fight my ass off for 135’ haha

This is the first time I’ve ever wanted to be 55+ years old – women masters #’s are 35-55-75…much more civilized!
For those who did it last night… did 10 mins feel like a short time for this WOD? Or did you get some time left to hack away at the last few heavier reps?
Finished first 30 under 2 minutes. Took way too long on the next 30 (6.5min), and 1.5min for last couple reps.
Time on the second 30 also includes having to change your weights first which took longer than i expected. My timing on the 2nd set was slightly faster than Kevin’s by a couple reps leaving some time to change weights again before the last set.
What variations did you use? (muscle/power/squat/split)
Muscled most of the 75’s, and powered the rest.
Yeah I saw that, having one bar and being unassisted in switching weights. Makes sense tho, would take tons of heats for the boxes to get done if everyone had 3 bars, and not everyone will necessarily have assistants for the weights. Good common sense from the good folks at Crossfit.

Many many many times 95# …. got a few ugly ones that count for the WOD, but I need to figure out how to land lower under the bar so I can go to 100# for saturday… if I know in the back of my mind that I can at least do 1, it will help me on saturday for sure!

My goal was 60 and maybe get a crack at the 165#, however, my technique is just not there yet. Next time for sure.

Really happy with the result, as I really did not expect to get through all of my second round. This is just a solid reminder that I need to practice my snatch technique if I am ever to get the heavy weight up.
