  1. Huge thanks to Kevin & Jo, all of the members and volunteers at CrossFit Moncton. The Atlantic Hopper 2012 was a huge success because of a lot of hard work… and it showed! It’s great to see the entire CrossFit community come together and so nice to see so many familiar faces. Well Done CFM! Can’t wait til 2013!

  2. I was there for the first 6 heats, today. I wish I could have stayed for the entire event.

It was amazing to see so many incredible athletes going all-out, like that.

Congratulations to all of the participants!

    1. It was really nice to see you yesterday, Robyn. I wish I’d had more time to chat. Would love to see you competing in this next year 🙂

  3. What a great event! I am proud to have been part of it and part of CrossFit Moncton!
What a great community of CrossFitters we are a part of!
    What a tough gruelling WOD!

    Atlantic Hopper 2012 WOD

    In 12 minutes:
    400m MedBall run (2010)
    then AMRAP in time remaining:
    — 10 Hang Power Squat Cleans (95/65)
    — 15 Goblet Squats
    — 20 KBS (53/35)
    — 10 Lateral Jump Burpees

I think I got 105 reps… 5 short of finishing round 2. That was a fun, nasty suck-wind WOD. Glad I could do all the movements but I really didn’t expect the instant cotton-mouth, can’t breathe feeling right after the first round.
My goal next year is to not have a fear of certain movements coming up…which means I have 12 months to master double-unders and toes-to-bar!

Congrats to all who made this event great! And congrats to Kevin and Joanna for being great hosts!

  5. Wow!! I have never experienced such an event!!! So much energy from the crowd! Both Scott and I were in tears watching and encouraging our son Shawn to keep going, Next year we hope there will be more Mathers competing. Very very proud of our son Shawn!!!!!

    1. I take great pride in your young man.. He embodies what Xfit is.. He values his family ( I love that he has you and his dad involved). He carried the whole of CFM on his back today, and did a fine job doing that.. He inspires me to push even harder!! I love that he had the support of each of us.. Nobody cheering louder than me for him., you’ve raised a fine young man!!

    2. I love what Jeff wrote about Shawn carrying CFM on his back today. It was awesome watching him compete, staying with the boys who went to the games this year. We’re very proud of you Shawn, you were awesome today!!

    3. I got chills reading your post, Paula-Marie. Shawn is an amazing athlete and a very fine young man. We are all very proud of him. 🙂

    4. Thanks so much for the support guys, we have such an awesome group of people at cfm and im so glad to be a part of it. Everyone has helped me out a ton this summer and I love pushing it to the limits with you guys day in and day out.

  6. That was a fun event. Great job Kevin and Jo.

Three things I learned from today’s event:
1.) I’ve got to be more intense. As Terry put it “get comfortable with the uncomfortable”
2.) Attack my weaknesses. (Those burpees were brutal!!)
3.) Get more massages. That 5 minute free massage was the most relaxing part of the day!!
