Get the weight to your shoulders, and drive it overhead. Fun fact – you can squat clean more than you can power clean. If that’s not true for you, make today ‘technique day’ so that it is true later.

  1. Clean and Jerk – 1RM
    Worked on technique but got close to my 1RM. Full squat cleans and split jerks.

    -165×3
    -175×2
    -185×1
    -195×1

    50 Double Unders – don’t want to jinx it but this went ok, large chunks 15+
    5 Clean and Jerks (135/95#/60%) – felt pain in bicep mid wod so I slowed it down a bit

    2 rounds + 52 reps RX’d

    Thanks for the diagnosis on my bicep pain Shane, will definitely try widening my grip on the jerks next time. Great class, awesome job 6ers!

    5 Clean and jerk (105# – lol did more weight then rx cause I clearly can’t add)

    Did the three WODs for maritime mayhem!

    WOD 1
    In 4 min:
    24 cal row
    12 hang snatch (65#)
    Max lateral burpees over bar

    1 min rest

    In 4 min:
    24 cal row
    9 hang Snatch 65#)
    Max lateral burpees over bar

    Total = burpees (16 first round, 14 second round)
    Last time I did this WOD on October 10th I only got 10 + 5 burpees so I doubled my score 😀

    WOD 2:
    Clean and jerk ladder every 20 sec lift
    Only made it to 115 cause I did those all in the class

    WOD 3:
    In 8 min:
    200 single under buy in

    Then amrap of:
    16 KB snatch (35#)
    8 goblet squat (35#)

    Did 3 rounds plus 8 kB snatch

    Knees were achy so I did power clean and split jerk

    First time putting that much weight over head.

    Felt really good, last jerk landed a little wobbly, too much weight on the heel.

    125# is a PR. It felt good. I probably could have went a bit heavier, but I still need work on the clean. So this was a good technique day as well. And the shoulder felt alright.

    power clean + jerk

    40# x 3 trying not to jump for the jerk part, but still trying to still get under the bar
    some practice with a stick to get under the bar
    40# again a few times…power clean + jerk (the normal jumping way)
