  1. Score —> 78
    8.5 inches above reach.
I’ll take that score considering I’m on vacation.
Just happy I didn’t miss the WOD. I posted my video to the games site.

Good luck everyone! Can’t wait to see your results.

    1. Good job Jeff, especially being on vacation!! The extra couple of inches for the reach looked like it might have made it tougher. So now you can stop thinking about the games for a few days and go relax on the beach!! See you next week.

  2. Score: 80

So much fun – although I think I might be a “first heat” kinda girl – waiting and watching almost drove me crazy! So much fun to see everyone from all the different classes together. Great job everyone πŸ™‚

  3. My first Crossfit Games WOD. What an adrenaline rush. Everyone screming and cheering made a huge difference. I beat my goal by 1 so I am stoked for the next WOD.

Total burpees in 7 minutes: 81

Thanks for the judging and encouragement Blake.

  4. And the tradition continues, great atmosphere at the Box!
Impressive work by all athletes, judges and support from the crowd!

    Score: 86

Have a great weekend fella CrossFitters!

  5. My first Crossfit Games WOD, that was a lot of fun, neat atmosphere with all the cheering.. I didn’t really have a goal in mind, just figured I’d go as hard as I could.. Can’t wait for next week..
Total burpees in 7 minutes: 87
    Thanks for judging heather

    1. Hey Gimpy McGimperson; you forgot to mention you had knee surgery on Wednesday…or are you high on painkillers right now? Hope your surgeon doesn’t see this. LOL!

In all seriousness, I’m very proud of you! Great job!

  6. Another great Games WOD — AMRAP burpees in 7 minutes: 77. Was shooting for 80 so came up a little short, but still happy. Great job today everyone atmosphere was great. Thanks for judging Marco.

  7. score = 75 Burpees

Thanks for all the cheering at the end it made a big differences I was close to quitting after 5 min.
    Great job every one

  8. Games WOD 12.1 is in the books!

    7 minutes of burpees
    Score = 82

The atmosphere in the gym was incredible today. I couldn’t help but feel inspired and excited watching all the athletes push themselves, and hearing all the cheering.

Congratulations to all the athletes, “hats off” to Kevin and Joanna for organizing a very well run event and a great big thank you to the all judges and spectators.

Can’t wait for next week πŸ™‚

    1. Great job today Lora.. Very proud of you to, know how nervous you were to start off and you posted a great number..

  9. Does anyone have the paleo lasagne recipe? Heard it’s yummy and need to add something new to the kitchen rotation!

    1. I believe is the same as a regular lasagna but with cabbage leafs instead of the pasta – assuming your sauce is paleo too

  10. Games WOD 12.1
    Great crowd today!

    AMRAP 7 minutes of Burpees
    Score = 63

Personally I am VERY disappointed with my score…I felt I should have had a few more, but in the end I was still proud that I participated with just 4 months under my belt.
Everyone’s efforts were very inspiring, watching the athletes dig deep and keep going.

I agree with Lora that everything was very well organized and went very smooth!

    1. Hey Blake, impressed with your performance today and every day at the gym even if you weren’t. And great job as a judge. Just the right combo of push and support. Somewhere between WOD 12.1 and 12,5 your favorites will show up and you’ll be saying “Ya, that’s what I’m talking about!”

  11. Here you go Heather

    o Cabbage Lasagna
1 lb. ground turkey or beef (I used beef)
    1/4 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
    1-2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
    1 sm. head green cabbage
    Italian seasoning
    Salt & pepper to taste
1 can (large) tomato sauce (no salt)
    1 c. sliced fresh mushrooms

    Boil cabbage until fairly tender.
In the meantime, sautee your turkey (or beef…) with the vegetables and spices. Once the meat is cooked, drain the liquid off, and add about 1/2 of the tomato sauce, simmer for 10-15 minutes (you can add a few more spices at this point).

In a 8×8 square pan pour 1/2 of the leftover tomato sauce. Peel off layers of the cabbage and lay on top of the sauce.

Put a layer of your meat mixture, another layer of cabbage leaves, layer of meat, layer of cabbage. Top with the rest of the tomato sauce alone and a bit of cheese if you like.

    I sprinkled a little cheese on top…not a lot

Cover with tin foil and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let it stand for about 15 mintues before cutting it (it stays together better if you let it sit).

**I doubled it and it still didn’t make a lot. There are only 2 layers in the above two pans.

  12. First cross fit games, lot of fun, great atmosphere. very well run, fantastic job Jo and Kevin.
I was very impressed watchiing each person push themselves to their own personal limits.
    Lot of cheering and support.

    Burpees total of 77

happy with it but a little disappointed at the same time as i had a goal of 80 and i knew it was reachable. called myself on 3 missed reps which feels great as i would sooner finish short of goal but knowing they were all clean.
Really looking forward to see what they have to offer for next week.
    have a super week-end everyone

  13. WOD = 92 reps

Glad this one is done, 1 down, 4 to go! Good job everyone, amazing performances out there today!

  14. Wow, I’m so glad I joined the Games, truly something to be a part of….very well organized – good job Joanna & Kevin and all the judges – cheering everyone on, pushing your limits and seeing everyone else do the same….priceless!!

I went in with a modest goal, knowing how tough Kevin’s birthday burpees were just a couple of weeks ago for me and I surprisingly killed it…finishing with 84!! Very happy with that score and have to give a HUGE THANKS to Lora….you got me through that one girl! And John, and my judge (oops I didn’t even get your name) and anyone else I could hear in the distance…too focussed lol Loved it, can’t wait to see what 12.2 will bring!!

    1. Great job Krista! You need to plan to be at the Hopper event this summer – atmosphere like this morning X 1000! So glad you signed up.

    2. Awww thanks ladies, appreciate the support and so happy to have met you all πŸ™‚
      Most definitely Heather…I’m hooked!!

  15. 12.1 wod. Total: 86 reps.
Thanks Joanne for judging and pushing me. You too Gab.
Kevin, thanks for squeezing me in somewhere.

  16. WOD = 84 big bad burpees!!!

Great job everyone, sorry I wasnt there early enough to cheer you animals on!!!!! Thanks for fitting me into the schedule kevin. 1 down, 4 to go, woeeeeee.

  17. Games WOD 12.1
    57 Burpees

I’m a little disappointed with this score but I gave everything I had. I started too confident and too fast so I had a hard time to keep up until the end.

Thanks Jake for judging and cheering and to all the other people encouraging me to keep going. I couldn’t see you but I heard you and it felt great! Great atmosphere for sure!

  18. Scaled the WOD
Did down up instead of burpees
    Total: 75 (I think)
Thanks for judging me Jo πŸ™‚ Thanks for everybody who was cheering! Great energy at the gym!

  19. Games WOD 12.1

    84 Burpees

Wow that was nuts! Amazing day. Everyone worked so hard. It was a blast. Thanks to the coaches and volunteers. Thanks to Kevin and Joanna. I hope everyone celebrates tonight we all earned it! Woohoo!!

  20. Games WOD 12.1

    104 Burpees

I had my sights on 100 since I decided to sign up for the games and if I did not have such great friends cheering me on, there’s no way I would have done it today.

Thanks Rob for the great and fair judging, to all who encouraged me and cheered me on today, I really needed it and it was very very appreciated πŸ˜€

The love and electricity in the gym meant more to me in the end than the score. Everyone gave it their all and it was really awesome to see that!

    …Onto the next πŸ™‚

    1. You KILLED it Eric! Very inspiring! Once you got in the eighties there was NO WAY we weren’t letting you finish less than 100!

  21. Grant "Burpee Hell" FInlayson

Well….12.1 is now in the books and for what it’s worth, it was pretty insane. I watched people crush this wad with everything they had….VERY impressive everyone.

    Total for 12.1: 72

I am extremely disappointed in my performance. I missed the bar several times and that both killed my momentum and my spirit. Thank you everyone for the push to get it done. Marco….you gave me all the strength I needed to make it to the end with a big push. THANK YOU. You can be my judge ANYTIME.

  22. Awesome numbers posted today guys. But remember to be proud to have made the brave jump to register for the games. The numbers are just numbers guys. We’re all winners no matter what. We’re fitter day after day and lets keep that uphill climb going. This CrossFit marathon is a lifelong journey.

  23. WOD
    Total: 61

I have a hard time with burpees all the time, I am really slow considering that I put as a goal to do 50 burpees, so I am really happy with 61.

Thanks Everyone and Johnny for pushing me till the end, I had quite a bit of No reps hahaha!!

What an amazing day, the ambiance in Crossfit today was great!! So proud of everyone πŸ™‚

  24. WOD : 55 burpees

Kinda disapointed, I didn’t have a goal but being the very last girl and hearing the other girls’ scores I thought I was gonna be better.

Oh Well! Lots of fun, great atmosphere, can’t wait till next saturday!

  25. WOD: 80 Burpees

Worst WOD of my life! I wanted to quit so many times especially in the beginning. I could not get into a groove again which led to frustration almost immediately. I knew this one was gonna be tough for me and the anticipation of the 7 minute pain storm that I was going to experience did not help matters. You have to be flexible to do Burpees and flexible I am NOT!! When I got home today and told Laura my score, she was quite pleased for me and said ” Corinna, you could not even do a burpee 2 years ago. You had to walk in because you were unable to jump in. Be happy that you can do 80 burpees!”

Great scores today everyone! It was awesome to see everyone push through the pain storm!

    1. Meh…burpees are not my strength either, but you know what? We showed up and gave it our “all” today. Just wait until a WOD with double unders (or T2B or pullups or a crazy strength movement) comes up…then you’re gonna kill it! I’m proud of you for not giving in to the frustration. You pushed through the mental and physical pain of it all. Way to go!

  26. Games WOD 12.1
    73 Burpees

It’s amazing to see how the energy & passion at the gym gives you the ability to push yourself… not just today but everyday.

Joanna thanks for judging and the last minute tips. Kevin, congratulations on a great kick off for the games – 50 STRONG!

  27. Games WOD 12.1

    Score – 64

LOVED it today!! Can’t wait till next week! πŸ˜€
    AWESOME JOB everyone!!!

  28. Games WOD 12.1
    Score 47
Very disappointed. Kept missing the bar. Wanted 50 real bad.
That aside. The atmosphere was awesome and I am glad to be part of it. Great scores and amazing to see the push everyone gave. Thanks Chantal for judging.

  29. Games WOD 12.1

    Score: 82

Wow, what a great atmosphere. Thanks for the encouragement and cheers. Thanks Pierre for judging and pushing me to keep moving. Awesome job everyone!

  30. Good job everyone on the burpees.

I retried WOD 12.1 today and did 5 less than Thursday night.. ya, disapointed.. but it seems i’m not the only one. I’ll just have to push that much harder for the next weeks.

  31. So…I re-tried 12.1 Sunday at home in an attempt to do a video submission.

I recorded the measuring, had the timer on the notebook ‘just so’, had my wife as the camera operator and my son as the judge with the score sheet in hand. All set!

I was much more satisfied with my 74 vs. my 63 at the box! Not a great score overall but I really feel it was more indicative of what I could accomplish.

Unfortunately with about 2 minutes left my notebook SCREENSAVER came on and when my wife made it go away it had paused the countdown timer! She stopped me a few seconds earlier to compensate, but it was unfortunately enough to invalidate my video.

I was …pissed… but in the end I reminded myself that the reason I re-did the workout was simply to prove to myself what I could do, not to challenge Rich Froning or something.

The moral of the story is to remember why you do CrossFit in the first place and why you signed up for the Games…and to plug in your damn notebook…
