Friday’s QOD

Name a book that changed your life.

With a running clock, every minute perform 1 lift and add 10 lb. (women increase by 5 lb.)
Start with an empty barbell and snatch for as long as possible.
Once you cannot snatch the weight, clean for as long as possible.

  1. WOD
    Started 15# snatch
    Increased by 10#
    Failed @ 95#
Switched to squat clean @ 95#
Failed 145#, attempted again and nailed it
Failed 155#, attempted again and failed again

QOD – Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A Heinlein

  2. QOD: Bible

Snatch to 165# should have got 175# but just not in my head not to do so 🙁
Clean to 225# matched my PR and haven’t worked on these for a bit so I’m happy with it 🙂

    Thanks for the tips Matt!

  3. QOD: Between a rock and a hard place

    Snatch up to 175
    Cleans up to 235

A ways off my PRs, but happy with that given my lack of focused work on them.

  4. Snatch to 175# (185# is PR)

Clean to 215# (245# is PR)

I’ll take it for not doing either of these movements in a long time. I think the last time I did a squat clean was possibly over a year ago haha.

  5. Snatch started at 15 and increased by 5’s up to 70# (PR)
Cleans started at 70# went up to 95# failed on 100

    Fun class, thanks Matt

  6. QOD: The Harry Potter series. My absolute favorite books that developed my love for reading and taught me a lot about social justice and community.

    Wod:

Squat Snatxhed from 15 to 75 pounds (PR!)

Cleaned from 80 to 100 pounds.

Failed the 105 cleans. That shouldn’t be happening lol but my legs were gassed. Happy that I PRd my snatch! I am feeling so much better with snatch form and happy to see that it’s allowing me to lift heavier. I think my old squat snatch or would be like 55# max. Power snatch like 85 ish.

    Open gym:

Did a bit of stretching and went for a walk with Crystal haha

    Thanks Mario!

  7. Snatch up to 120 (10 pound PR)
Clean up to 170 (15 pound PR)

Great class Mario and thanks to everyone for cheering me on 💗💪

  8. All books by terry brooks
Also hitch hikers guide to the universe
    Most light reading

Today’s lifts were uneventful with the exception that I’ll need to get to work on these

Snatch : 135. ( shoulda had 145 but didn’t punch up into bar albeit it was close I’ll fix that)
Clean: 225 successful 235 fail ( pr is 240) so I’ll need to get to work on these. Just add that to the long growing list of work on things at CFM

I’ll need baseball season to wrap up to not consume my time so I can get stronger

  9. No snatch for me. Pulled something in my neck or shoulder today not sure how maybe lifting a kid. Hurts to put arm over head so just did cleans.

Cleans- From 15-85#. Failed at 90#.

Happy with that. I think my PR is 105-115?? So not to bad for having a few months off.

  10. Snatch : 195 successful attempted 205( which is a 5 #pr) but failed x2

Cleans : 225 , stopped as I’m nursing an injury.

  11. Started with 15# snatch.
Increased by 5#. Successful to 55#.
    Failed @ 60#.
    Switched to clean @ 60# . Successful to 85#.
    Failed 90#.

This is the most I have successfully cleaned post-baby. Still 10# away from my pre-baby clean weight, but I also weigh ~10# less.

    Snatch – 65# . .70# (fail)
    Clean – 100# . . 105# (fail)
I know I am able to do both failed numbers but I got in my head and became a tire kicker..
Lifting has not been a priority for me these days, I’ll get back to it!
Then I spent the afternoon with Karen, Sam, and Krissie.. We rucked 21k that we plan to run in Legs For Literacy in Oct. My ruck was 30#, plus 3L of water.. I tried a new pair of sneakers, so I had my old ones in tow..

  13. OG

    Snatch was a gross 165#
    Failed 175#

Got to 215# clean , matched my PR .

Just can’t seem to get under it at a heavier weight .
    I’ll get it sometime
