Five years?!

Here’s the link to my first CrossFit workout –Β Β December 4, 2006.

What a terrible workout to be my first one. Looking back, I wasn’t able to complete it under an hour. And now, when I look at all of you doing workouts, I’m amazed at how far you’ve come in such a short amount of time.

Me after a few years of CrossFit is nothing compared to YOU after a year of CrossFit. My form was still terrible, there were a ton of movements I couldn’t do.

Yet, I hear people who have only been here less than 6 months, say they can’t do this or that. My response – be patient. Health is not a race. It’s a journey. Progress should be made slowly. I shouldn’t see posts in the comments about 15-50 pound PR’s. Let the improvement happen over a longer period of time so you don’t become stale.

I wish I had a coach that gave me that advice. Then I might not be stuck with a 130# press.

50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Good Mornings
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball

    30 Double unders (120 singles)

    PR by 4:40! πŸ™‚
    Had 33:34 last year.
    Had 40:07 in 2009 with singles.
    Wall Balls and Burpees definitely chewed up time today. Very happy with my result today. Tweaked my lower back in yesterday’s WOD and woke up this morning very sore and could barely bend over. Thanks to ice, caffeine, advil and lacrosse balls I got to do the WOD. There was no way I was missing that one!

    No PR, but this year I did the 10’f wall balls and the knees to elbows. These 2 exercices just about did me in today. Hope this lung infection goes away soon!

    Definitely a tough WOD that had it’s way with me today. K2E & wall balls definitely the worst. Great push by everyone today!

    My first attempt at this one, happy to finally do it!!
    Wall balls and burpees slowed me down horribly. But, I did my wall balls at the 10′ line for the first time in a wod, so I’m happy with that.

    T = 26:05. Happy with that, even though I don’t have anything to compare it to. πŸ™‚

    I can’t wait to do this WOD next time, I kind of finish with the feeling that I should have done “The fuckin 40s” instead!! but really happy with my time πŸ™‚
