    DU’s practice (goal is to get to 100)

    Worked up to a 45″ box jump. Not a weakness, but really wanted to find out my max box jump.

    1. Elba and I had very much fun planning our lives as deperate houswifes of Moncton if Vince and Trent killed themselves on those box jumps. Quite impressive, I was kinda scared to look.. lol!

    1. Congrats on your row PR Darsey! You are VERY close to sub 1:30. Next time, try it before a workout, when you’re still fresh. It might make a difference πŸ™‚

    Nice sharing the bar with you Brian.

    Tried wall climbs/shoulder touch thingies but still couldn’t do them, Chantal suggested to try the pike position. Then she suggested holding my legs against the wall. BINGO I could do them and know exactly why I’m always falling. Thanks Chantal.

    Saw Vincent doing the Box Jumps so I “Hopped” on board. Worked up to 47″

    Had some time and weight was going up well so decided to go for 1s

    BW for 5 and 10# PR for 1s How excited am I?? πŸ˜€ (Thanks for pushing me Blake! It helped in the confidence department! )

    I just realized I missed a set – I was supposed to do 95×3 and didn’t! It’s just as well I guess, my arms & chest are toast right now!

    Last time we did 3’s for bench (Nov 2011) I got to 95×1 so it’s a small improvement, and I’ll take it!

    1. You did great, Josh! I think you ended up lifting a lot more than you thought you could! Oh the things peer pressure can do….LOL!

    No PRs, but a nice ‘change-of-pace’ workout. Thanks Kevin & Patrick for helping with the technique behind everything…much appreciated!

    Today is my 1 year CrossFit Anniversary. I started to write a little blurb of thanks but ended up getting all “wordy” so I posted it as a blog instead. Thanks again to Kevin, Jo and all the coaches for all your hardwork to make us better CrossFitters and better people alll-around.
    Here’s my 2 cents…

    1. Great comments from a “non blogger”, Blake. Your love of CrossFit is obvious by your enthusiasm at the gym. Congrats on year 1.

    2. Happy 1 year Anniversary! Congrats on a fantastic year. It is always a pleasure to have you around the gym. Your positive attitude and sharp wit are very welcome additions to our little community.

      Loved what you wrote on your “non-blog”. I have to admit, it got me a little choked up. Thanks for sharing. πŸ™‚

    Some people were practicing box jumps at great heights. I decided, since I tripped on every curb while walking the dogs earlier, I would decline. I am quite aware of yesterday’s WOD!

    Worked on:

    Double Unders hit a new PR of 35
    Bar Muscle Ups (close but no cigar)
    Box jumps. Added 4 of the thick 45lbs plates, no idea how tall it was.

    Did a 4KM run this morning before work.

    practice muscle ups: finally got 2 in a row and almost 3. Very happy about this.

    Bench Day: 8 sets of 5

    messed up my breathing on the last set and exhaled on the way down. Tried again but didn’t rest. No go.

    Bench is fun but it left me wanting for the feeling of a good soul crushing WOD. Can’t wait for tomorrow.

    I love bench press day.

    Super happy with this. Last May/12 I only managed 95X 2, and November/11 failed at 95#. I think doing this WOD in the evening as opposed to 6 a.m. may have been the key factor. I’ll have to test this theory next time.

    Great sharing the bar with Marie & Jason. (Even though they had to keep taking weight off when it was my turn) Marie, you made every lift look so easy. So strong!

    Very happy and surprised with the 1RM @ 135 since I had done it in August during testing and even though I did get it up, I had struggled through it.
