        Honestly doing those 165 thrusters scared me and I am pretty happy I got them. If I would have been doing my strength alone, I would have quit after I failed my 1st set of 165.

        Your back squats were solid.

    Day 2 of “No Bread” challenge and feeling tired. WTF? I thought I would have more energy, but I guess my body is still adjusting to life without grains. Obsessing about food BIG TIME. Another WTF? I typically NEVER think about food. Not like this anyway. Now that certain things are taboo they are on my mind constantly. Fortunately, today was better than yesterday…..hopefully the trend will continue 🙂

    1. The lack of energy and food fixations happened to me the first time I did this challenge last year Lora. It usually passes in the first 2 weeks and then you start feeling pretty energized.

      One thing I needed to focus on was actually adding some sea salt to my food. I don’t normally salt anything so the only sodium intake I was getting was in processed foods…when I stopped eating these, my blood pressure went really low and I felt fatigued. If you find you’re not including any sodium in your diet, you might want to start sea salting your veggies (in moderation).

    I have to say, I was completely unaware of the huge advantages of doing strength with a group at a single rack. I did Thrusters with Pierre, Jeff and Lora (Backsquats) today and I’m fairly certain each of us got a PR for reps.

    Group Strength / Shared Rack Advantages:

    1) You gain the same encouragement/push as you do in a group WOD.
    2) You have spotters at the ready.
    3) You’ll stay on schedule better.
    4) You’ll keep focused on what you’re suppose to be doing.

    Again, I’m surprised at how well that worked out today. Doing strength by yourself is like doing a WOD at home by yourself.

    1. Dan, I completely agree with your comments on the group strength advantages.

      And I forgot to write it down, but I got a PR on those thrusters.

    2. Completely agree, Dan! I wouldn’t have tried 175 again after the first failed attempt if you guys weren’t there. Great post!
