  4. Hey Kevin, i left a message on your phone I just got back from the physio and he said that with my hip that way it is that it wasn’t a good idea for me to go to night. I was going to get out of my 5:30 class but I found out to late so just for a heads up.
    Thanks Julia

Not a PR. Had 133 a year and a half ago.

    Great job 4:15 and 5:30 crews! 🙂
The group atmosphere with the Thrusters was a lot of fun! Thanks Dan & Pierre … think I enjoyed the thrusters more than the WOD tonight!

    Good job everyone!

  10. Thrusters 3RM –> 95-115-135-155(hard)-165(failed)-165
Jeff & Dan, it was great doing the strength. I would have probably not tried 165 without you being guys.

    WOD –> 22-22-22-22-21-20-18-16 = 163

    Great job Dan!

      1. Thanks Lora!

Honestly doing those 165 thrusters scared me and I am pretty happy I got them. If I would have been doing my strength alone, I would have quit after I failed my 1st set of 165.

        Your back squats were solid.

  11. WU x 2 (with Toes Thru Rings for situps)
Strength: Back Squats (subbed for 3RM trusters b/c of shoulder)
    135-165-185-205-210 (PR reps!)

Day 2 of “No Bread” challenge and feeling tired. WTF? I thought I would have more energy, but I guess my body is still adjusting to life without grains. Obsessing about food BIG TIME. Another WTF? I typically NEVER think about food. Not like this anyway. Now that certain things are taboo they are on my mind constantly. Fortunately, today was better than yesterday…..hopefully the trend will continue 🙂

    1. The lack of energy and food fixations happened to me the first time I did this challenge last year Lora. It usually passes in the first 2 weeks and then you start feeling pretty energized.

One thing I needed to focus on was actually adding some sea salt to my food. I don’t normally salt anything so the only sodium intake I was getting was in processed foods…when I stopped eating these, my blood pressure went really low and I felt fatigued. If you find you’re not including any sodium in your diet, you might want to start sea salting your veggies (in moderation).

      Stay strong! 🙂

  12. Thrusters x3
    95-115-135-155-165-175 (PR reps)

    WOD: Tabata Squats

    Total: 170

I have to say, I was completely unaware of the huge advantages of doing strength with a group at a single rack. I did Thrusters with Pierre, Jeff and Lora (Backsquats) today and I’m fairly certain each of us got a PR for reps.

Group Strength / Shared Rack Advantages:

    1) You gain the same encouragement/push as you do in a group WOD.
    2) You have spotters at the ready.
    3) You’ll stay on schedule better.
    4) You’ll keep focused on what you’re suppose to be doing.

Again, I’m surprised at how well that worked out today. Doing strength by yourself is like doing a WOD at home by yourself.

    1. Dan, I completely agree with your comments on the group strength advantages.

And I forgot to write it down, but I got a PR on those thrusters.

    2. Completely agree, Dan! I wouldn’t have tried 175 again after the first failed attempt if you guys weren’t there. Great post!

    3. I agree with the group strength / shared rack advantages you listed. Well said 🙂

Nice score on the WOD! Impressive! And you made the 175# thruster look easy (like I would have….LMAO!)

  13. Thrusters 3x

Legs were pretty tired from the 1/2 marathon, happy with score, great job 630 crew. Awesome coaching Gabrielle as usual 🙂

Nice working with you Mel – always pushes me a little fruther when I work with you 🙂 Thanks for the great coaching Gabrielle.

Kevin, I hope you have your feet up and you’re in recovery mode! See you soon.

    1. Don’t worry, I knew it was you 🙂 Ditto on the effort, I always try my hardest when I have someone encouraging me. Thanks!

    – This was a PR by 28 squats! 🙂

  18. WU x 2

I only did 2 sets of thrusters & stopped at 65#, as my shoulder was feeling wonky, so I rolled on a ball instead. I am anxious to come back to this.

    Tabata Thrusters:
    Total reps = 126

2 reps shy of my previous score on this WOD. I think I gassed myself on the 1st two rounds. GRR!

  19. wu
