  4. 17.2 tips!

    Mobility + WUx1
    Quad roll
    Lat Roll
    Fig 4 LAX
    Forearm LAX
    Front Rack Lunges
    DB Cleans

    EVERYONE
-Keep 25’ of lunges unbroken. Any ‘no reps’ mean you have to go back to the last 5 foot interval.
-If you need a break, rest at the turnaround
-Find a comfortable position for the DBs on the shoulders
    -Keep grip loose and relaxed
-When doing DB cleans, rest at rep 6 or 7. On 8th, go right into lunges.

    Rx’d
-This wod will come down to your grip/ability to do Bar MUPs. That means, break up the T2B in at least 2 sets, and up to 4. DO NOT go to grip failure.
-DO NOT muscle clean the DBs, no matter how good it feels. It will burn into your grip strength and pulling strength (which you’ll need for the Bar MUPs).
-If your competent in Bar MUPs, try for a minimum of 2 reps each set, with a short break. Big sets – hands will tear and grip will be lost. One at a time – too slow!

    Scaled/Modified
-If you have pull-ups, break them up well ahead of time. Small sets with 3-4 seconds rest.
-If you don’t have pull-ups, get through the first 2 rounds AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. Getting a score of 78 (like 50+% of the world), the only thing that will matter is your tiebreak time. This applies for people who are registered for the CrossFit Open.
-If you’re doing the Intramural Open only, use any weight and scale any movement that you need. Ask coaches for advice.

Don’t forget to write your Team Color on the top of the scorecard! And have them filled out before your heat.

    Questions?

    Awesome job everyone!

  7. 17.2 Rx: 78 reps, thanks Gabe!

Didn’t really push for a fast time, just wanted to get to the bar MUs.

35# was heavy but do-able, but the real issue is the sharp corners digging into your shoulders… Ouch!!

Missed all the instructions with coming in late so didn’t get a selfie or write my team on the scorecard. Sorry Kevin!!

Fun Friday night at the gym. I actually really liked this one! Made the top 3 list of favourites.

  12. Decided to try out RX, never got a MU, but still fun trying. Except the ripped hands.

Got 78 reps, figured a lot would get stuck at 78, so tried to get a fast tie breaker time.
    6:03 for tie breaker.

Fun WOD! Thanks for judging Rob.

And Kevin and Joanna for the great event again!! Bring on 17.3

I’m working really hard to see the big picture here – I haven’t done any t2b in almost a year because of an injury and tonight I managed 29 so I’m calling it a “sorta” win. (But ohhh man I wanted to get to those cleans!!!)

Thanks to everyone cheering, you guys have an amazing amount of faith in me. And special thanks to Shane – excellent judge and awesome coach. So glad to have you on my side.😂

Happy with my score. Looking foward to trying it again with better T2B and Bar Muscle-Ups!
