Bring a filthy partner

Today marks 13 years since I did my first CrossFit workout. It was in the halls of Tantramar High School while I was teaching there. I guess it left an impression on me, because that one workout shifted my life to opening a gym and meeting some of the best people in my life.

Over the years, we’ve been in 4 locations, and none of it would have been possible on my own. Thank you to everyone that’s ever helped along the way – family, friends, coaches, members.

I don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Love this journey, and thank you for trusting me.

    I did 20′ step ups, knee raises, 35# for PP and GM’s, 8# WB and Singles

    Chris K and I did this in 2016 in 20:48; so even though more movements were scaled for me this time around … still happy to have gotten it done.

    50 Knees to elbows i did 7 then 5s Kevin did the rest
    50 Push press, 45 pounds – 25s
    50 Good Mornings, 45 pounds – 25s
    50 Wall ball shots, 20/14 pound ball @ 10′- 20-25-5
    50 Burpees few 1s then 2s for the rest – 3s may be quicker
    50 Double unders – Kevin did 50 while i attempted to breath again after trying to keep up with him, maybe another 8 years and I’ll be there 🙂

  7. QOD – I’ll never forget the burpee sandwich in the first prep class. And me trying to give up without finishing it, and Kevin not letting me give up on myself. That’s the moment I realized that I could be the slowest, I could struggle, but that didn’t mean I had to give up. It was a paradigm shift right then and there. That lesson keeps me coming back.

    QOD: First workout was in May 2009. I keep coming back because this place keeps me healthy physically and mentally. I want to be able to move my body on my own, without assistance, until I die. I feel like as long as I’m doing CrossFit, I will always be able to do that.

    He did everything rx, I subbed burpees for down ups cause of baby, and did 8# med ball knee raises instead of knees to elbows for the same reason.

    My first workout some time back in 2008 was Fight Gone Bad, and I couldn’t walk for a week!
    I keep coming back for the community, and it helps keep my brain happy!
