*Reminder – bring a friend day is this Wednesday!

Last lady of the month. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have. Quite a few PRs were hit this month. With Hero month coming up, I’m sure we’ll see more of the same.

‘Eva’
Five rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
30 Kettlebell swings (70/53#)
30 Pull-ups

*45 min cap (may not continue next round if you haven’t left for the run at 36 min)

This one is no joke. It takes a lot of physical and even more mental strength to finish this one.

Option – Half distance and reps (GOOD OPTION!)

Compare to July 14/17

30 Pull-ups -all singles except the 1st round with the first 10 unbroken

    Time–>42:44

    May try 70# next time.

    Well done John and Allison!

    Thanks Matt!

    Five rounds for time of:
    Run 800 meters
    30 Kettlebell swings (70#)
    30 Pull-ups
4 Rounds 40:00 Grip was almost gone
last time was 3 Rounds 29:40 (29:30 to finish 3 rounds today)

    Thanks Matt!

  3. Eva, scaled in various ways…

    5 Rounds
    800m run/subbed some rowing…
    30 KBS 40#
    30 Ring Rows

Rounds 1 and 2, did 1,000m row…originally planned to do 53# KBS, but after rowing that was basically gonna be the death of me. So swapped for 40# KBS.
Round 3, did 700m row, then Matt suggested I swap back to a shorter run to save my grip/shoulders. Ran 100m to finish up that round.
Rounds 4 and 5, did 400m run, kept reps of KBS/ring rows at 30.

    Final time: 40:27

    Previous – July 5. 2013, did 3 rounds of Eva @ 35#/ring rows in 35:00. PR – actually completed!

    ‘Eva’ scaled version
    Five rounds for time of:
    Run 800 meters
    30 Kettlebell swings (35#)
    30 Ring rows

44:25 and wow that was a rough one

37:13 for 4 rounds last year and 5# lighter kettlebell

Matt coached me both years for this WOD thanks. Thanks Jeff for running fast and making me speed up every time u passed me.

  5. Blake

    This WOD defeated me…

Rounds 1 & most of 2: 70# KBS and pullups
    Round 3: 60# & pullups
Round 4: 53# and ring rows.
    39:12

Future Me. Go as light as you need to and attack the workout and finish it. RX does not stand for “Really Exhausted” and standing over the KB or under the bar feeling crushed before you start. I underestimated the impact of the too-heavy KBS on my pullups.
    Next time.

    Eva
    5 rounds for time
    Run 800 m
30 KB swings 20# – went lighter as I am still sore from Friday and this is a big one.
    30 Ring Rows

Time: 42:34 or 43:24… really not sure on that one.
This, of all the running workouts this month, this was the best one for me. I was doubtful going into it but focused on breathing from the first step and I think the lack of super awful humidity was good for my asthma.

Overall, it was a good one..
Great job nooners and Thanks to Matt!!!

  7. Mike Moody

    Eva

The plan was to finish no matter what my excuse was, so I used a 60# KB and did the ring rows

The 800 meters are getting better. All my running at 267lbs is getting easier.

    Today
43:50. Plenty of time remaining And my grip was dead for the weekend wods of hammering and tire flipping and complexing. We’ll see what tommorrow has in store

    ‘Eva’
    Five rounds for time of:
    Run 800 meters
    30 Kettlebell swings (70/53#) – Used 53#
    30 Pull-ups
*45 min cap (may not continue next round if you haven’t left for the run at 36 min)

Time = :-)… was doing well until skin on hands starting giving out
Quit on KB’s during fourth round

Note: Tape or gloves for next time
Felt like I could have potentially finished @ 53# if the hands would have kept up

WOD with 50# KBS and Ring rows

    Run 800 meters
    30 Kettlebell swings (35#)
    30 Pull-ups
    40:06
I was a full minute slower than last year.. I kept my Kettlebell swings to sets of 15 and ring rows to sets of 5.. I am still happy with my time.. in the past I’d have done sets of 10s and 3s.. I guess I spent to much time looking at my feet .. 😂

Time: 41:01; was finished 4 rounds in 36:10 so did the 5th round as 400m and half reps. Happy with it but wishing I had tried to get that last full round in.

    Thanks Amanda!

Had to go back all the way to 2012 to find the last time I did Eva. Back then we used bands for the pull up, but everything else the same & my time was 42:11

    Today….
    800 m run
    30 KBS @ 35#
    30 Ring Rows
Finished my 4th round at 36:50 and then left for my last 800 M run. 45 min time cap was up by the time I got back…just missed it. So not as successful at 2012. The run was definitely the wall for me today. The 6 p.m. heat & post vacation festivities were killer for me. Quite a sweatfest!!

  21. Eva… 3 rounds Rx: 34:24

    First round: 8:36 (KBS 10-10-10, Pullups 4s)
    Second round: 18:40ish (KBS 10-10-10, pullups 3s)
Third round: got back from run at 23:something and then spent 11 mins finishing the rest…KBS went to 5s, pullups were all over the place. I actually felt pretty good, I just couldn’t grip the rig anymore without messing up my hands. I really should have had a 4th round but once I started to rip, I stopped pushing. I need to wear firefighting gloves all week in training and ripped palms would make that difficult haha

    July 2017 (3 rounds Rx) 36:36
    July 2015 (3 rounds Rx) 39:20

  22. Shane Hayes

Not sure why but I actually like this workout ..
Unfortunately I had to row due to my toe hurting . .

    Eva
    5 rounds of
    1000m row
    30 kbs @ 70#
    30 Pullups
    44:12
Rowing made this very tough, and hands almost tore on the last 20 or so Pullups. Thanks for keeping me going Amanda!!!
Great class and great work everybody!

  23. Remi Richard

    ‘Eva’
