As I sit here writing this post, I can’t help by reminisce about the time gone by since opening CrossFit Moncton. The amount of growth and change is beyond measurable. There are only a handful that remember the days of working out in the grassy field behind a school. On July 5th, 2008, we had 20 people visit the school to learn about the wonders of CrossFit. And over 70 others throughout the summer. Back then, there were no Reebok Nanos, Hylete compression shorts, or Rich Froning. Just you, your body and the dirt beneath your feet.

After the park, we moved indoors to 94 Rideout Street. The max class size was 6 (the gym was smaller than our current warm-up room). Once we busted out a few walls, we could hold up to 9! WOAH!

NINE whole years have gone by since I gave up my full time teaching position. I have trained over 1000 people since we started. And with every person that walks through the door, I learn something new.

With that said, thank you for being a part of this amazing journey. I have grown as a coach thanks to all of you. And for that I am very grateful.

Hope to see lots of you on Saturday for the Anniversary Hopper WOD and BBQ.

    Congratulations Kevin. I’m so glad that I’ve been along for part of that ride. At CFMoncton you have done what real coaches do – created an environment where fitness facilitates personal growth. Sure we celebrate the big lifts, the first pull-ups, the climbs up the rope and the muscle ups, but it’s the confidence built, the energy in the steps and and the knowledge that we can successfully take on life’s hardest challenges that is the real story of CFMoncton. For the person I’ve become, for the impact on my family and in my work, I’ll always be thankful. Here’s to “6 more weeks”!😘

    Did Baseline in May 2015 with 400m run, push-ups from knees and ring rows – 8:42
    Not sure if I can call this a PR since I did knee raises instead of sit ups…
