Come on out to celebrate CrossFit Moncton’s 8th birthday tomorrow. There will be a Hopper WOD at 10am, followed by a BBQ at 11am. 

For the new folks, July is Ladies Month! CrossFit has taken some of their infamous workouts named them after ladies. After all, anything that leaves you laying on your ass in a pile of your own sweat deserves to be named after a lady.

Some of the ladies are named after real women, like Annie, Eva and Nicole.

They are great to use a benchmarks to help measure your progress over time. Each time you do it, you can see how you’ve improved. Or, they could make you very aware of some weaknesses you may have.

What’s your favorite lady?

Five rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
30 Kettlebell swings (70/53#)
30 Pull-ups

*45 min cap (may not continue next round if you haven’t left for the run at 36 min)

This one is no joke. It takes a lot of physical and even more mental strength to finish this one. Many people score 3 rounds, so scale accordingly.

    Run 800m
    30 KBS (70/53#) @ 40# (sets of 10)
    30 Pull-ups (sets of 5)
    = 42:12 PR!

    Used the exact same weight/movements as last time, way way back in 2011. Back then I finished 4 rounds in just over 46 mins.

    Did 800 m “runs”
    Kettle bell swings with 50#
    Pull ups and ring rows

    4 rounds in 43:12
    Round 1-3 15 pull ups and 15 ring rows
    Round 4 30 pull ups

    Getting there. Slow and steady Not bad for a heavy guy

    Today Paige and I tackled Eva..
    We both went in a bit worried about the 45 min time cap and all.that.running… and chose to do the modified version.. We both used a 25# kettle bell and did ring rows.. My time was 25:15 and Paige finished around 36:00..
    I think next time I will try to tackle the full version..
