Tried a few HSPU – entertaining at best

    Back Squats x3

    15-12-9 reps – RX
    Thrusters 85#
    Time: 8:29

  4. Back squat

    Thruster @45#

    Time: 8:48

Except for Deadlifts, I have never used 45# in a WOD before. And I’m not going to lie, I nearly chickened out. But #45 was 65% of my Push Press, so I went for it.

    And it was really hard

    Back Squat x 3
    135(5) – 195 – 205 – 220 – 220 – 220

    WOD as Rx’d

That was a mess. I did the first round unbroken, and was so proud of myself I didn’t bother to think about how bad of an idea that was.

    Nice work Nooners!

  6. Amanda

    WOD with 70#: 8:49

10# more than last time but took me way longer this time…I don’t know what my issue was today! No PR. I caught myself holding my breath on my first set of thrusters, that probably had something to do with it!

Buuuuuut, it was a really fun nooner, despite doing thrusters and burpees for the wod. πŸ™‚

ohhhh and then the super fun plank at the end: 1:30. That definitely would have been much shorter if it weren’t for Josh yelling at me.

      1. I found that plank *really* hard after the WOD.
I stopped at 1:17, rested until 1:30 and then finished at 2:00.

I was slightly disappointed because I have done 2:30 unbroken before, but my body said “NO WAY” this time. So I got over that disappointment really quick

      2. Amanda

Well you plank better than I do, I don’t think I’ve even reached a 2:00 unbroken plank – and that certainly wasn’t happening today!

  7. This picture makes me smile!
Subbed backsquats fir front squats (tightness in upper back)
    3x 115-125-130-130-130

    WOD Rx
    Time = 7:20

13 seconds slower than last time but 30# more so I’m walking (or wobbling) out of the gym very happy :). Thanks Steph!

    Back Squats x3

    WOD @ 115#
Did 9 thrusters, shoulder hurt, so switched to Front Squats for the rest

Managed a measly 1:40 for the death plank

    Mobility & WU

    Group WU

    1 Snatch & 1 hang Snatch

These were not good, really unsettled in the bottom. Add it to the list of things to work on…

    3 sec. Pause Front Squats x 2
    65 (wu) 75-95-110-120-130
Felt good and strong at the bottom, getting the hang of pushing my knees out. 5# PR over my best 2 sec. pause FS.

    Halting Clean Deadllifts
Thanks for being patient Amanda – I really couldn’t understand what I was supposed to do.
    3 sets of 3 @ 100% of clean weight
    1st set @115
    2nd & 3rd set at 130#

Max clean is 115, but not because of weight, because of getting under bar, so increased weight on other sets after asking Amanda.

Thanks for sharing the bar Steph.
