2013 – The year of changes.

We saw a shift in our programming, which resulted in many PRs and great feedback.

We tragically lost a dear friend, Marc Hebert. If it’s possible to have a silver lining, it’s the support and love that came from all parts of the CrossFit community. We grieved together and grew stronger as a result. I want to thank everyone for helping us through that tough time in 2013.

We upgraded to a great, new location. And thanks to all the members that helped in the process. From cleaning and painting, to building and moving, it would not have been possible without all your help. Thank you so much!

We’re saying farewell to Marie-Noelle as she heads to Montreal. Everyone at CrossFit Moncton will miss her greatly.

However, we’ve added three new trainers to our staff – Maria, Chantal and Blake.

We held a massive Hopper event at an off-site location for the first time. Again, we could not have pulled off an event of that size without all of the volunteers.

And we saw the birth of CrossFit Moncton’s newest member, Holly!

It was a roller coaster of a year, with many ups and downs. But the one constant is the amazing community. From the trainers, Joanna and myself, thank you for your continued support and your heartwarming love.

    This year has seen massive changes for me, and a lot of them are because of CrossFit Moncton! I’ve lost about 25lbs while gaining strength and muscle, ran my first timed 5k event (first time I’ve ever taken part in any fitness competition!)

    QOD : meet an amazing guy in 2013 who motivated me to train more. We did a spartan race and now I am hooked at pushing myself to improve and see what I can do. Did a Paleo challange that reinforced good habits and changed the way I feel and think about food.

    CFM was a big part in all of this. Cant wait to see what 2014 will challenge ne with. 🙂

    Changes..

    My fitness has declined a bit, but I’ve got a solid plan to get it back in 2014.
    We bought a motorhome!
    We lost Winston to a sudden illness, and now we have Nelson.
    I got to go south TWICE.

    I think that’s it for major changes. 2013 was a good year but 2014 is going to be better. 🙂

      Also, the most comments in one day was 186 for 2013? That’s not a PR, I remember seeing one with over 200 the year before. Let’s do better next year! lol

    My biggest change of 2013 was joining and sticking to Crossfit moncton. So far, this has been the longest I have consecutively kept with a fitness routine… And I couldn’t be happier! When I started I had a lot of doubts about my abilities as I have never really been an athlete. Now I feel more confident in my skills and love working towards PRs, no matter how small or large. 2013 gave me my fastest 5km time by far with CFM, I can’t wait to see what milestones I’ll reach in 2014!

    Happy new year to all!

    Changes…
    – Became a working mom. Balance between family, work and gym became a bit more challenging.
    – Hubby took a dream job coaching for the Syracuse Crunch. Lydia, Murph and I miss him greatly, but have found a routine that kind of works 😉
    – Playing single mommy has changed me. I am more assertive and surprise myself daily with things I can do on my own.

    Love the changes in the gym. Location is wonderful. Like the new strength rotation. My techniques have improved greatly. The coaches at CFM are hands down the best. Each coach brings something different to the gym. The watchful eyes, encouraging words, and the occasional kick in the ass is appreciated.

    Pumped to see what 2014 has in store for CFM.

    to continue on with the theme:

    Changes…
    – Accomplished the most successful (personally) paleo challenge early in 2013. I know it works… I just enjoy ice cream too much.
    – Finally took the plunge of going for my L1 cert…after almost 2 years on considering it.
    – Letting go of the ‘mid-twenties’ and turning 26… big thing for me as 30 is scaring me. Although I hear better days are coming.
    – Started to see a massage therapist in the fall every 3 weeks. Feels.so.good.
    – On a personal / professional level, my confidence is soaring and I just can’t wait to see where I’ll be at the end of 2014.

    Can’t wait to work with all of you in 2014…patience kids, it’s coming SOON.

      I was nervous about turning 30 too, I remember feeling old. But everyone said how great your 30’s are, they were all exactly right. I’ve never been happier and although I appreciate the tough lessons I learned in my 20’s, I wouldn’t go back to them for all the tea in china. They tell me that our 40’s are even better and 40 is coming right up on me and I’m looking forward to it! So – don’t be afraid of turning 30! It’s all good! 🙂

    Status Quo…….Same wife, same house, same dogs, same car and same muscle up progressions! lol!!!! I could almost make a country song…lol…

    Significant changes……..

    My dad passed away in October. My family has always been important to me, but since his passing, I have made spending quality time with my family a priority. Since October, I have reconnected with two of my cousins, but most importantly, I have reconnected and formed a very special relationship with my dad’s sister; my Aunt Sylvia.

    After fourteen years of being a classroom teacher, I am now a physical education teacher which is just simply awesome!!!!

    Laura and I made some significant changes with regards to trying to eat cleaner. We both have lost weight and inches and we feel much better.

    Looking forward to seeing everyone accomplish their goals in 2014.
