12 Days of Christmas

You perform the workout as you would sing the song “The 12 Days of Christmas”: Round 1 is 1 pullup; round 2 is 2 pushups and 1 pullup; round 3 is 3 tuck jumps, 2 pushups and 1 pullup, etc.

Because of the space and size of class, we will run this in 2 groups. There is a 20 min cap.

1 – Pullup in a pear tree
2 – Pushups
3 – Tuck jumps
4 – Dips
5 – Golden squats
6 – Burpees
7 – Lunges
8 – Mountain climbers
9 – Good mornings
10 – Box jumps
11 – Situps
12 – Wall Balls

Compare to Dec.24/11

        Sarah, listen to Jeff.

And? Among many other reasons to post your results on the site, is it not conceivable that you could lose your book?

This was a great one! Thanks Stacy for keeping me on track!

    1 – Pullup in a pear tree
    2 – Pushups
    3 – Tuck jumps
    4 – Dips (paralettes)
    5 – Golden squats
    6 – Burpees
    7 – Lunges
    8 – Mountain climbers
    9 – Good mornings
    10 – Box jumps (20”)
    11 – Situps
    12 – Wall Balls (10#)

Started the wall balls at 14# but got 4 no reps in a row. So I put the ego aside and grabbed the 10#.

    Time 16:17

    1. I find a huge difference between the 10# & 14# med balls – I have no trouble with the 10# but I really struggle with the 14#. This is a tough wod to try the 14# one because you do 300+ reps before you hit the wall balls – so try them again soon, maybe in a warm up or something when you’re fresh.
      Nice time on the wod

      1. Valérie Arseneau

I’ve dont 14# before (but only once or twice) hence why I went for that at first. I knew it was going to be a struggle regardless… At least with 10# it was do-able in a decent time.

But yes… I really need to work on them… Need to stop avoiding them lol. #guilty

    Warmup
    12 days of Christmas Rxd
    DNF had 3 ring dips, 3 tuck jumps, 2 push-ups, 1 pull-up left

Figured out that anything on the rings makes me swear. Need to figure out the kip for ring dips and need to work on my crossfit face.

    WOD “12 Days of Christmas”
    as Rx
Time = 16:52 (PR of 58 seconds over last year)

Sweet mother of god those ring dips almost killed me. I freaking HATE them! (sorry if you thought I was cursing YOU during the WOD Joey)

Lots of fun today. Great job everyone, especially to those of you tackling this one for the first time.

Well that was fun !!! Serious.
Everyone pushed hard on this one !!
    Thanks for counting Trent!

  9. Amanda

WOD, rx’d? (14# med ball, 20″ box, regular pullup, ring dips)

I got 2 squats in the 12th round. Last year I got through it all in 16:53 but I did parallette dips last time and used the 10# ball, which, as I mentioned, is much easier for me than the 14# ball. Really struggled with the wall balls and the ring dips are SOOOO much slower than parallettes. Near year I’ll finish it. 😀

Really great to meet you, Fern! Thanks for the great counting and encouragement!

    Thanks for the push, Eric!

I forgot how tough this workout is…it’s a good one!

  10. Crystal

Well in the name of Christmas Spirit this one definitely put me on my ass!
Thanks to my partner for the encouragement and Amanda as always!
I completed 11days and up to 9 box jumps on the 12th day!
Was trying to all of the last round in, but I am proud I did it and didn’t pass out! (was borderline tho’)!
    Loving my new CFMoncton family!
Was tough but so worth it!

    1. Lora

Crystal you did awesome! I arrived early for my class and saw the last half of your WOD. You should be very proud of what you did today 🙂 The tough ones are the most rewarding.

  11. Melissa H

    WOD 20 min time cap
    Jumping pull-ups
    Parallette dips
    12″ box jumps

Finished the 10th round and 11 sit-ups and 5 box jumps into the 11th
Wow, that was hard. Goal is to finish it next year with time to spare.

Got to 4 squats into the 12th round. I then had a piece of humble pie. This was up there with the toughest WOD’s so far. It makes it even more impressive for all of you who finished this, rx or not, way under the time cap!! Hats off!!

I will never listen to that song the same way again!
