Hey everyone, so I have a QOD….. I suc..not.very good at, cooking. I’m wondering what’s one or two kitchen things you have that you have that are a huge help. For instance, food processor, good knife set, anything. What will give me the most bang for my buck. (preferably nothing from St George street late at night). 🙂 and good luck to all the oly cert peeps today 🙂

One thing a friend of mine (who is a great cook) told me is to always have onions and garlic. You can put that in anything to add flavor.

U got nothing fancy here but a good pan is crucial.

Love my food processor! I use it often. Muffin liners are a must, a grater/zester and of course a good set of pans oh and eggs 🙂 always have eggs on hand they are so versatile!

I have a great set of……………………………………knives (LOL). Seriously though, I love them. I have, however, been contemplating investing in a food processor. Chopping veggies
gets old really fast for me. You should also invest in some good cookware (pots, pans) if you don’t already have some. One of my favourite purchases lately has been muffin liners made of silicone (thanks Amanda!).

I’m interested in the responses you get. They may help me in my food processor decision. 🙂

I’ve also seen the Nutri Bullet and am wondering if it would double as a food processor, cause I think its made for “veggie smoothies?”

Our food processor broke (If you ask Mel she’ll tell you I broke it but that’s not the case) and we went about 4 years without one until we started Paleo this year and we asked (are getting) one for Christmas this year and both of us (Mel) can’t wait. It’ll cut down on prep time in the kitchen.

  3. Good luck everyone at the certification, can’t wait to hear about all the hot new lifting tips! 😀

Went for a visit at MCF…

WOD Rx (teamed with Jamie & Olivier)
    1) 800m Run (together, move on when all 3 are in)
    2) 50 reps of each of the following movement per member, one person at a time up to 50 reps, then move to next movement after all teammates are done (each time person doing movements takes a break in the set of 50, two others do 5 burpees)
    – Walll Ball Shots 20#/10′ (30-20)
    – Pull-Ups (20-10-10-10)
    – KB Swing 53# (15-10-15-10)
    – Push Press 75# (17-17-16)
    3) 50 Burpee Box Jumps (divided among teammates)

Score = … hit the 45 min time cap somewhere around 20+ burpee box jumps. We did it in the order above, but could be done any order you wanted. First two emptied my tank and grip was gone for KBS. What a grind! Was surprised I knocked out 50 wall balls fairly quick… maybe try and PR on “Karen” soon….

Woke up today and read the at home WOD. I thought to myself ” that is what I will do”….then I stood up….maybe another day! I took my pooches for an hour and 25 min walk. I did do little one minute jogs with them every once in awhile to see how my right heel stood up. Between my right heel spur, seized up quads and left tennis elbow…I looked drunk on the north west trail.

Oly Cert is awesome! Leaning lots and putting it into practice. Props to my bar mates for the day Marie-No and Megan (from CF Kinetics) who made great progress throughout the day!

Kev, I asked for a food processor for Christmas last year after the food challenge and received it from Santa – I love it, use it all the time. I have cut myself on it twice though lol.
Next thing would be the grater/zester thing. It was from Superstore, I think it was around $10-20, and I use it all the time. I can send you a pic of it if you’re not sure what it is.
