Although, Im thankful there is no video camera evidence of when Crossfit Moncton fundraise money for my life situation. I remember feeling so overwhelmed, loved and shy!!!
The video is priceless.. I didn’t cry but I did get some dust blown into my eyes around the same time as I watched it, so it may have appeared that I was crying! :). So happy for you Amanda, the video captures your sweetness and kindness and the reason you deserved some good out of this.. So proud to be a part of this CFM community!! Awesome group of people! 🙂
That’s weird, you had dust blown in your eyes, I was cutting an onion and stubbed my toe, which led to some eye moisture. The manly kind.
Very happy and proud to be apart of CFM.
Well… Amanda… you’re not the only one who cried this morning!! Thanks to your reaction, I did too!! hehe
So very happy for you guys! You deserved it!

Wod Eva
5 Rds
Run 800 meters
30 Kettlebell swings 30#
30 Pull-ups
Finished 4 rounds
Time 36:08
3 Pullups left on my last round and my palm ripped. GAG! I have a weak stomach for this kind of stuff. I hope next time I can finish all 5 rounds. Good job 6am’ers!
I’ve been a member of a lot of gyms and a lot of groups and teams, and I have never felt the sense of “community” and togetherness that CrossFit brings to the table.
Whether struggling through a WOD or through a hiccup in life, it’s nice to find a place where people push you when you need a push, and help you up when you need a hand.
lol, yes. Not because I don’t like them, it’s just that I don’t like to invade someone’s personal space…I couldn’t help it last night though. And at the end when I told Jo to shut the camera off it was so that I could go give her one too, lol.
AND I was sweaty and filthy, they were both very lucky to have a hug from me last night. 🙂
What a fantastic video! This is but another example of the generosity and kindness of everyone at Crossfit Moncton. I feel so blessed to be a part of this community. 🙂
Also wanted to point out that the same dust cloud that affected me while watching this video affected Lora as well but she seemed to get the brunt of it! 🙂
While in NFLD earlier in JUNE!! it was zero degrees the day I ran in St Johns. I had to buy wool mittons (very cute with puffins knit in to them) – I should have lent them to you so you’d look like a crazy tourist 🙂
That video was awesome!! Not just because Pat had no shirt on but to see Amanda so happy.
Wod Rx
44:01 I think.
That was the worst WOD in a long time for me.
love the video, so nice to be a part of such a wonderful group of people. real men don’t cry, we just sweat from our eyes, even more so after a wod like this. special thanks to kevin and jo for showing us how to do things right!
I still can’t believe you have done this. I’m humbled beyond words! I’m overwhelmed and feel so lucky to belong to such a supportive community. I’ve never been on the receiving end of such an incredible act of kindness & generosity, and it’s hard to absorb.
Last night I was calculating how much I thought I lost in total, and I think there’s a little more in the envelope than what I lost. I don’t know if I’ve accounted for everything but I don’t want to be greedy and the bulk of what I lost is covered so I’m going to return a bit of it tonight to the Change for Change bucket, I don’t want to take more than what was taken from me and those donations will be needed for another cause soon enough too.
As I said to Kevin last night, just saying thank you doesn’t seem enough for touching my life in such a big way. I’m truly honored to know all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Well EVA.. I’ll give you the benefit of doubt this time! Posted WU.. Got area setup, went and picked up the 70# dumbbell and thought ‘oh eff that’s heavy!’ ! Lol not the best way to start!
Had Patrick to use as a rabbit and just tried to stick with him.. Whoa he’s quick! 🙂
WOD Rx
Only got through 4 rounds, was 26 seconds from being able to attemp the 5 round, my body balked and made sure I went over the 36 minute barrier so I couldn’t go back out? Lol just know one pull up at a time wouldn’t get it done!
36:26
Great job everyone in 5:30

WOD “Eva”
(5 rounds)
– 800m run

This was a hard one. Nick, happy you did not puke because I would have probably joined you hahaha !!!

Little disappointed. I really thought i could finish all 5 rounds especially scaled at 53lbs. I quickly humbled by the heat. Cudos to all who finished it!!
I did three rounds of of a 1000m row, 30KBS (25lbs), 30 pullups (thick band).
Time: 34:16
Every time I do not leave by ambulance is a successful day for me at crossfit.
It was fun. Thanks.
First Oly class tonight. VERY much enjoyed it. Shoulder started to act up a bit so kept the weight down and concentrated more on technique. Really helpful. Good sharing the bar with ya Rob. As brutal as watching the 5:30 crew do Eva. i still wanna try it. Thinking change for change or an open gym sometime. Awesome job for everyone who did it.
Mobility

5 Rounds
– 800m run (Loop)
– 30 KBS (35#)
– 30 Pullups (Purple band)
Time cap: 45 minutes
Stopped at 3 rounds: 33:58
Classic crossfit WOD for me: running to keep me humble; KBS to give me hope; pull ups to remind me that progress is being made. Horrible stitch in my side while running in round 2 that I never really was able to shake, so I was really happy to get through 3 rounds. But hey, made it through without tearing my hands – also a good thing!
Great job 5:30 crew; some insane results and some real heart. Hardly wait for tomorrow’s mayhem!

This is where the fun ended…
WOD “Evil Eva”
(scaled KBS to 35# by mistake, which turned out to be a very good thing)
800m run
30 KBS @35# (oops…afflicted with Jeff’s disease and didn’t read the board)
30 pullups (did about 10 unassisted and then grabbed a medium band)
4 rounds in 39:35
I’m a bit disappointed because I did this last August and used 40# for KBS, did pullups with same size band and ran an extra 800m in the 45:00 time cap. There were no partial rounds counted today so there was no point starting into the run for round 5.
On a positive note, however, I still got one hell of a workout, AND my hands didn’t tear! That’s a PR for me 🙂
Awesome work 5:30 crew! Great way to kick off “Ladies month”.
Completed 4 Rounds in 42:11
KBS 35#
Pull Ups – Round 1 with med. band (not the skinny one, but next up) Rounds 2, 3, & 4 with the Med. band AND the skinny band.
Tough WOD. So glad to have that one behind me at 6:00 a.m., for two reasons: 1) the afternoon heat & 2) the anxiety of knowing it was coming all day
Good work on Eva. I think she is the worst of the lot (at least that is what I keep telling myself). Its all sunshine and puppy dogs for the rest of the month…..LMAO
you did great on this one lora.. even if i had to talk you into it this afternoon! lol.. i knew if you missed it you would regret it all night and be pissy cause i wanted to brag about how terrible it was! lol

I hope your hands heal fast Blake. Those were some nasty rips 🙁
But on the bright side, good work on the WOD. Eva is a tough one!

As long as tomorrow doesn’t include any lifting or gripping ANYTHING… I’ll be fine 😉
Otherwise I may have to sit the next one out and heal up!

Nice job on the WOD Elba. Sorry about your hands 🙁 Get some vinyl or thin rubber gloves to shower with. Or ask your hubby to help you. 😉 You pick.

Tough WOD. So glad to have that one behind me at 6:00 a.m., for two reasons: 1) the afternoon heat & 2) the anxiety of knowing it was coming all day
Loved the video. Aren’t surprises FUN Amanda?
