Just wait

For 10 minutes, accumulate as much time as possible in an L-sit.

If you are competing on Saturday, please register in Zenplanner by 7:30pm tonight. I need to make the heat lists.

Everyone is gettin' down

Joanna, look, you’re no.1 in Canada East!! 😀

You guys did a great job last night. J’sus pas mal impressed! 😀

  3. Nath

Coach! Would it be possible to have a snatch practice? Tomorrow maybe? We don’t do them very often and it would be really nice to have a refresher before WOD 12.2. 🙂

      1. Blake

Kevin, is there a standard scaling % to start? Or should I just plan on the 45/75/100/120 increments?

My max from our snatch practice last month was 110 or 120.

I am hoping to try this this afternoon if there are judges around.

      2. Kevin

Those are the women’s weights you listed. The men’s is 75-135-165-210.

You’ll be doing 30 at 75, then fighting your ass off to get a 135.

      3. Krista

Thanks Kevin, videos good for the WOD but doesn’t “teach” a snatch….was the the only option you were thinking, or is a small practice available tomorrow at some point?

  4. Kevin :You’ll be doing 30 at 75, then fighting your ass off to get a 135.

My thoughts exactly, Not sure how I’m going to lock 135 over my head, but I’m sure I’ll have some time to try.

“You’ll be doing 30 at 75, then fighting your ass off to get a 135.”

    Sounds painful…especially the a$$ part 🙁

    1. Heather S

This is the first time I’ve ever wanted to be 55+ years old – women masters #’s are 35-55-75…much more civilized!

  6. Mario

For those who did it last night… did 10 mins feel like a short time for this WOD? Or did you get some time left to hack away at the last few heavier reps?

      1. Jo

Time on the second 30 also includes having to change your weights first which took longer than i expected. My timing on the 2nd set was slightly faster than Kevin’s by a couple reps leaving some time to change weights again before the last set.

    1. Mario

Yeah I saw that, having one bar and being unassisted in switching weights. Makes sense tho, would take tons of heats for the boxes to get done if everyone had 3 bars, and not everyone will necessarily have assistants for the weights. Good common sense from the good folks at Crossfit.

Many many many times 95# …. got a few ugly ones that count for the WOD, but I need to figure out how to land lower under the bar so I can go to 100# for saturday… if I know in the back of my mind that I can at least do 1, it will help me on saturday for sure!

    Games 12.2 – Total 48 Snatches

Happy with the number! Not a strength we do often, going to work it into my rotation.

    Thanks Kevin for judging

    Thanks again for the push.

Played around with 95# and 100# to work on technique and get a feel for the Games 12.2 weight.

    Lacrosse ball on shoulders….ahhhhhh.

Hats off to all those who tackled Games WOD 12.2 tonight. Great work! Very inspiring!

    Practiced Snatches to 75#

    12.2 Games WOD:

    30 @ 45#…..piece of cake
30 @ 75#…..teeny tiny piece of cake, but not so bad as I thought
    0 @ 100#…..no F#*%&@ing cake at all.
    Total Reps = 60

Really happy with the result, as I really did not expect to get through all of my second round. This is just a solid reminder that I need to practice my snatch technique if I am ever to get the heavy weight up.

Great job to everyone & thanks to the folks who cheered me on.
