Our first Hero WOD of the month is honoring Canadian Forces Corporal Nicholas Bulger, 30, of Peterborough, Ontario, assigned to the 3rd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, based out of Edmonton, AB. He died July 3, 2009 while on patrol in the Zhari district of Afghanistan when an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle.

    50 no-show burpees next time for me! I actually thought that I was registered for today and can’t make it tonight, so I went to cancel this morning, just to find out that it was actually yesterday I was registered for!

    and here i thought bulger was a yummy little ancient grain. boy was i misinformed!

    i really wanted to do 95# for front squats, but my 1 RM clean is only 95 so i scaled it back to 75. happy i was able to do everything unbroken through the whole WOD. last time i did pike push ups i was only doing 3 or so at a time. next time i’d love to try the scaled HSPU like Jane did today!

  9. Was looking forward to this wod this morning. Got there and when I started the warm up I was overwhelmed with fatigue and nausea? Not sure what happen. I figure it’s either a virus or simply need a rest.

    Started a 2k row and stopped at 1k. Wow.

    1. Probably just tired man…

      I’m still debating this one… I’ve gone 2 days in a row but I’m not too sore (a little in the shoulders) but I only go 3 days a week… I really don’t want to miss the first Hero WOD, but I don’t want to take a 3-day break either… Decisions decisions… πŸ™‚

    With the 30min time cap, I got 7 rounds in 27:14 as rx’d.

    Hi All… Well, I’ve been away from CF for over 4 weeks now, and although a break is good (and maybe was even needed), I’m surprised at how much I REALLY miss it now. Summer is very busy for me, but I’m still reading all of the great daily posts – wishing I was sweating along with you. Can’t wait to get back… which should be in another couple of weeks+!! (feeling the muscle soreness just thinking about it πŸ™‚ ) … So I guess that means I’ll be honouring some of our heros with you later in August!

    Time = 26:27 (BUT I DID 11 FREAKIN’ ROUNDS!!! DUH!! So focused I didn’t even hear those trying to tell me I was done…. and off I went onto my 11th round)
    Completed the 10th round at about 23:53 (thanks for keeping tabs Corinna!)

    Loved this WOD! Great work 4:15 crew!

    Actually felt really good with this one with the exception of the pull ups (my biggest goat). I’ll get there…will keep working on them! Shoulder actually felt pretty good today.
