Snatch Day!

Spend the class working on your snatch. You have the option to do snatch, power snatch, hang snatch, or hang power snatch. If you don’t know the difference, you really need to get in today.

    If you want to get in to an evening class, but it’s full on ZenPlanner, just shoot me an email and come on in. Everyone needs their snatched worked on.

    I have a bruised heel and I made it worse on my first lift. I managed to match my PR of 135 and felt like I can lift more. Very frustrating but I’m looking forward to get that PR when my heel gets better.

    lots of 45s and 55s, going back and forth working on form

    thanks kevin, i learned alot this morning on what is/was wrong with my technique. i think i know what a proper lift should feel like now. now to just keep practicing so i don’t forget πŸ˜‰

    Left arm: 5x 15-20-25-30(2)
    Right arm: 5x 15-20-25-30-35-40-50(f). Only tried 50# once, was afraid to drop the weight on the floor or on my head πŸ™‚

    500m row: 1:52.6 7sec PR πŸ™‚

    This was an exercise that I have never did in my life, looks easier than it is (especially watching Joanna and Patrick do them), really struggled with the timing and balance but lighter weight and practice made this a FUN one.

    To all the newbies….. listen to the coaches as Joanna and Kevin gave me a few tips that made this one much easier.

    Stayed with Hang Power Snatch to work on form (which really started to suffer with heavier weight). First time with this lift, and was nervous about shoulder (still). With more practice it should get better (easier).

    75# didn’t have good form, so reduced the weight to practice. 65# was great, 70# was OK.

    Pretty stoked about the PR, close to body weight, maybe a few pounds light. Took me a few tries at 145.

    20 consecutive strict Handstand Push-ups (PR by 2)
    60 consecutive Double Unders

    Avoided the Snatch because of shoulder…
    Clean & Jerk max —> 195#
    (PR by 10# on the Clean … and it was a power clean!)

    500m Row —> 1:39.3 (PR by 1 second)

    Well… for a day I wasn’t sure what I’d be doing…
    I left pretty happy! πŸ˜€
