What would you like to see as the first workout at the new gym?

    Three suggestions…

    1. Fran. (cause we need to use the new pull-up bars)
    2. Death by Clean & Jerk. (it was the first WOD on Rideout St.)
    3. Death by Pull-ups. (cause we need to use the new pull-up bars)

    Filthy Fifties
    This way we get to do a long WOD with a variety of movements that will definitely be burned in our minds.
    (we get to use the new pull-up bars Jeff 😉 )

    I like Jeff’s answers. We do need to break in those new pull-up bars. I’ll say Fran, mainly because I’ve yet to attempt it.

    Speaking of pull-ups, arms/back some sore from that ABC WOD… 🙂

      PS – I like Jeff’s suggestions. I like the first two mostly. First one because it’s such a famous WOD, and because we’d use the pullup bars. I like the second because of the sentiment behind it.
      I hate pullups the most, but I feel like we definitely need a workout to ‘christen’ those kickass new pullup bars.

    I vote Filthy Fifty. I’ve somehow missed it every other time its came up and if I’m not mistaken I believe it was Kevin’s first WOD.

    I vote for a team Fran since we’ll have so much space and for Jeff, using the new pullup bars. Or any long team wod cause they’re always fun.

    Everyone will want to check the place out and be part of the first WOD in the new gym. So… I’d suggest the first WOD be structured in a way to allow an unlimited number of people per class. That way anyone that wants to be there on the first day will be able to. It could be partners, a team WOD, heats, etc.

    Shoulder Press 7RM –> 45-55-65-75-85-95

    And I finished with ”WIlmot” –>

    6rds of:
    50 squats
    25 ring dips

    28:15 (did the ring dips in sets of 5)

    30 Dumbbell to overhead #25 each hand
    30 Toes to Bar
    100ft Overhead walking lunges #25
    150m sprint

    750m row – time? it was slow…very slow

    2pm –
    Practice Snatch balance
    Got up to #95 🙂

    50 Pullups
    50 KBS #35
    50 Double Unders
    50 OHS #65

    New gym is looking awesome, it’s been an epic transformation!

    This was a tough one for me. The toes to bar were awful for me!! Great job on this one Gillyon!

    750 row: Under 3 minutes: 2:50ish. I did not mind rowing today.

    Went home and had lunch. Played with Sadie and Wallie and back to the gym for round # 2.

    50 kbs(35#)
    50 Double Under’s
    50 OHS 65#

    I liked everything about this except the OHS. However, this WOD was hge for me because I have never completed 50 OHS at 65# before. My OHS still need a lot of work, but last year this time, I was using a broom stick to do them so I am pretty pleased about my progress!

      Sometime in mid to late July… I’m best man at a wedding so I’ll be making treck east from Manitoba. :o) Can’t wait to see new gym and my CF Mct friends. Cheers!!

    Something with wall balls and pullups, that way we can use the pullup bars……..for Jeff, and the fancy new wall ball line

    I like either filthy fifties or deck of death! Both use the pull up bars, AND I noticed that one of the bars might be low enough for us 5′ nothing people to jump onto without a box…sooooo looking forward to pretending I’m a big person 😀

    Wow! After 4 rounds I wanted to quit but kept chipping away at those dips.
    This was on the main site on Friday and Kristen Clever’s time was 14:13. 😉

    I’m thinking Team Grindy would be a good one:

    Alternating with a partner:
    20 Clean & Jerks
    5 rounds of Cindy: 5 pull up, 10 push ups, 15 squats
    20 C & J
    5 Rounds of Cindy
    20 C & J

    This gives us use of the brand new pull up bar – yay 🙁 , a weight bar WOD, a buddy WOD, and since it’s not a Saturday is a reasonable duration.
