Not great to start back Crossfit with a Games WOD after 2 weeks of eating pizza, pastas and drinking wine.
Thrusters were fairly easy, but pulling myself up there was hard!!
    WOD 11.6: 58 reps

Chest to Bar was good for me. Thrusters not so much. I’ll take it.

The six weeks of competition has been a great experience.
Congratulations everyone! CrossFit Moncton put on a incredible show!

  4. Dan

The sectionals are over, so glad I decided to participate. Thanks for talking me into it Jeff and Kevin. A little nerve wracking at times, but exciting and empowering at others. Thanks to everyone that made it happen!

WOD 11.6: 93 reps. More than I thought I had in me so I’m quite pleased.

Thanks for judging/pushing me today Mark!

  5. Gabriel

    WOD 11.6

    Very happy with my result.
Chest to bar where very difficult towards the end. No issues with thrusters.

Great job everyone! We all survived πŸ™‚

    Have a great weekend!

    WOD 11.6
    34 Reps

Thanks for the encouragement on those pull ups everyone! I wish I could have finished the 9 reps, but that bar was always an inch away πŸ™‚

This was an awesome experience; I feel stronger, more confident, and motivated to get even better results next year. That said….I’m glad sectionals are over!

    WOD 11.6 – 74 Reps

A little over a year ago when i went to watch Kevin and the competitors from last year do the sectionals in Fredericton i said i would compete next year. I couldn’t even do a pull-up by myself at the time, I’ve worked hard, have come a long way and am proud of myself for taking on the challenge. Somewhere around our house is a piece of paper that says “i will compete in the crossfit games next year” that kevin made me write down when i said i’d do it so he could hold me to it. I’ll always keep that little piece of paper and can now scratch “compete in a crossfit competition and not come last” off my bucket list.

Congrats everyone for all of your hard work and accomplishments the last 6 weeks!

  8. Heidi

    WOD 11.6
    Thrusters 65#
    Chest to Bar Pull Ups
3-6-9…etc. of each in 7 minutes
    Total Reps = 32.

Not a big score, but I couldn’t be more excited for these 32 reps. When I entered the gym this morning I fully expected to complete 3 thruster & then crash & burn on the C2B. (I’ve never done these before today, unassisted)

That’s what the Games WOD have meant to me…pushing through movements and weights RX’d that I haven’t done before. It’s shown me that I am able to do what I thought I couldn’t. Lots of similar stories, I am sure. Great job everyone!

As usual, lots of positive energy in the gym this morning. Looking forward to the CrossFit gathering at our place tonight to celebrate our “Games Survival” Even if you haven’t signed up on the board at the gym, come on over anyway. Any time after 8 p.m. is good.

  9. Kevin

    WOD 11.6 – 96 reps

Didn’t have a goal going into this one. My back has been acting up since Thursday, so wasn’t sure I’d even complete the workout. Everything felt good once the clock started and very pleased with the results.

I owe a big thanks to all the judges. The event would not have happened without you.

Congrats to all the athletes for stepping out of your comfort zone. A lot of amazing things have happened in the past 6 weeks.

And we all appreciate the dedicated spectators that came each week. And even those that helped with the clean up afterwards.

It was awesome to host this event, but I will say, I’m glad life will get back to normal. At least for a couple weeks until we move the gym.

Keep voting! Only a few hours left! http://challenge.getgrowingforbusiness.scotiabank.com/entry/4262195

Wow! Kevin! Great F’en WOD man!
I’m voting like crazy the last few days. (now that I know I can vote more than once per hour)

  10. WOD 11.6 – 51 reps πŸ˜€

I had not planned on competing and then Guy signed up so I was inspired to do the same. Each week, I had goals and each week I surprised myself by surpassing them. I am so happy I decided to take part in the games because I really feel like I accomplished a lot and I feel much better about myself as an athlete. Congrats to all the competitors. Thanks to all the cheerleaders. It was an amazing experience all round! πŸ˜€

  11. Guy "Rackman"

    WOD 11.6 – 65 reps

I am really happy that I competed this year. The “Old Farts” better watch out because this is training for the Masters in 2 years!! πŸ˜›

  12. Marc H.

    WOD 11.6 -> 80 reps
I’m glad that I competed this year cause I realized what I was really afraid of showing up in the WODs so gonna work harder on those goats. Congrats to everyone that took that leap and registered for the games. You all did amazing. It was a privilege to judge the athletes for the games. Next year will be EPIC as Kevin would say.
Goal for next year – Improve my muscle/weight ratio
How to get there – definitely not starting that tonight

  13. Johnny

36 reps – Thanks MC for really helping me out & Kevin/Jeff for being quick to assist! I appreciate it – I’m just a bit sore, more pissed… Chronic injuries are no fun Hehe
It was a great experience being a part of these games – I really enjoyed watching you all go crazy and push for awesome results. I especially enjoyed playing DJ and subjecting u to my pump-up music. Thanks to Kev, Jo, and all the judges for all their help. GSP baby !!!!

  14. Gillyon

    WOD 11.6 – 74 reps

Not sure how I feel about the games. I had not been training to the crossfit level in months and honestly decided at the last minute to register. At the moment, I am kicking my butt for not taking this more seriously…thinking I wonder how I could have done if I trained and ate right leading up to this. But, I am happy that I was able to work out with my close friends and be apart of something so positive. Thank you Jo and Kevin for organizing such solid events. Thanks to all the judges and cheerleaders…your cheers pushed me through every WOD.

    1. Gillyon

And…judging was super fun. Loved Jane’s 11.5 and Heidi’s 11.1 ..I was close to tears. Their push and determination through those movements was just plain AWESOME!

    2. Martine S.

I’m happy that you competed cause it was nice to see your smiling face and your bubbly personality for the last several Saturdays!!
