Fundraiser WOD

Fundraiser WOD

A fellow CrossFitter is in need. Elissa has been hospitalized due to a large flare up related to Crohn’s disease. It’s looking like surgery is imminent, and that may involve removing her large intestine.

Her life will be changed if such a procedure is performed. She’s a hard working and a tough lady. But now, she needs our help.

Tomorrow, the workout will be dedicated to Elissa. There will be a donation bucket set out at the gym. Please donate what you can to help Elissa through this challenging time.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Get well soon!

I had heard all about Elissa before I met her. I had seen lots of pics and Patrick was excited about her return to the gym. Everyone seemed to really like her. I’m a little uncomfortable with strangers/people I don’t know so I didn’t approach her but she did, she came right up to me and introduced herself and kept talking to me, and I quickly learned what all the fuss was all about with Elissa, she’s such a sweetheart.
I wish her a very speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her at the gym again very soon!

Get well soon Elissa. We’re cheering for you!

    OPEN GYM: 1pm – 3pm today
Come in to work on strength and/or skills practice.
It’s also your last chance to do WOD 11.1 (scale if needed).

Is there a specific time for this workout on Monday; or, will it be schedule as normal? Dave and I would like to come but do not want to take up a member spot.

Elissa is a trooper both at the gym and outside of the gym. She has a positive outlook. We wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her return to the gym. Even if tomorrow is not one of your workout days, please feel free to drop off a donation. Crossfit is Elissa’s family here in Moncton.

I’m Elissa’s sister, and ever since she started doing Crossfit few years ago, shes been talking about it non-stop and saying how awsome everyone is! I was talking to her and she said you have to check the website. To my surprise I found this fundraiser, I can’t even say how much this means. I’ll be spreading the word about Crossfit Moncton and how the people are a community that supports one another thru workouts, and anything that comes along! I hope i’ll meet some of you in the near future… PS my sister keeps telling me I should “try” a workout, but I think she has the stamina in our familly. Big thanks from our familly to all of you.

Elissa, if there’s one thing I’ve come to know about you is that you’re always ready to face a new challenge head on. Your positive attitude and determination will see you through this tough time. I thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery. We can’t wait to see you back at the gym!

Sending positive energy and lots of love your way, Elissa! Your strong will and good heart will guide you through a speedy recovery.

Wow! Great turnout for the Open Gym. There were 12 of us there and 6 did the Open WOD with some really nice results. There were a few strength PRs too. Congrats everyone! Thanks for coming out.

    I did a 2km Row —> 8:13.4
22 seconds slower than PR but tried to focus on form.

Elissa, I know you will pull through this surgery and be back at Cross Fit in no time. The first time I met you, I knew immediately that you had a positive attitude and a kind soul. In 2006,I had a large portion of my large and small intestine removed. I was told by many specialists all across Canada that I would live with chronic pain for the rest of my life. I never thought that I would ever work out again let alone become a Cross Fitter. I have no doubt that you will get through this surgery and you will also continue to be a Cross Fitter. If there is anything I can do to help please do not hesitate to contact me.

Jo and I went to visit her today. She’s looking good and healthy. Spirits are high and chipper as always. She appreciates all your comments too πŸ™‚

I signed up for the games today.

    WOD: AMRAP 10 minutes
    30 double under’s
    15 snatches 55#

    5 rounds + 6 snatches.

Thanks for being my judge Patrick. Thanks Amanda for your kind words. We had to put our dog Ceilidh down on Friday. She was 13.5 years old. She was a great girl who loved unconditionally. The silence in the house is unbearable. Today’s WOD was for her…..smiles..

Nice to see everyone at the gym today!!

Positive vibes sent your way Elissa πŸ™‚
practice the rack jerk today for the 2nd time
really like this and the last 225 went up pretty easy.
2k row -> 6:59.0 PR of 8.5 sec. That’s right Kevin, you’ll have to do yours again πŸ˜€

    1. Patrick

Nice! I wanted to do a few of those today because according to Coach Burgener, it builds confidence on the regular push jerk. I think I’ll do more of these on a regular basis.

I got to 185lbs today witch is the most I ever put overhead. Maybe soon I’ll get a 185lbs push jerk.

  14. Patrick

Elissa, I’m glad you’re able to read this. I knew your spirits were high even though your health wasn’t. I’m not surprised. Chin up and we’ll support you any way we can.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Elissa! Take care hun – we’re all pulling for ya! (and in today’s case, cleaning – hanging – & jump squating)!

Corinna – I’m thinking about you too! I am incredibly attached to my dogs as well and can only imagine how difficult it is! So sorry to hear this hun! Great job on the WOD and it was nice to dedicate that her! She would be proud and you kicked butt! Glad you registered!
