Deck of Death

  • Hearts = Burpees
  • DiamondsΒ = Situps
  • Clubs = Pullups
  • Spades = Squats
  • Jokers = 400m run

Start by drawing the top card and do that many reps of the suit. For example, if you draw the 9 of Hearts, you’re doing 9 burpees. Face cards are all worth 10. The goal is to get through the whole deck as fast as you can.

    Thanks for the comments everyone! It awesome to see 30 posts when it’s 7am here!

    We’re in Banff right now and woke up to snow. Check out facebook to see the picture from our window. We were going to go up a gondola, but it’s visibility is about 500 feet. Enjoyed the outdoor pool last night that was heated to 100 F. We’re going to grab a bite to eat here at the hotel and then head into the city. Looking forward to meeting up with the other Atlantic CrossFitters and share their nervousness.

    Looks like the weather is calling for showers while we do our X-country run tonight…to which I say, good! Make it hard! I know it will be mentally tough on all the non-runners.

    I’ll try to keep you posted on what’s going on out here.

    Disappointed on this, as I wasn’t able to match my current PR on this. Next time!

    Nursing some sort of weird arm injury, so Substituted my pull ups for 15# weighted Good Mornings.
    Time: 24:29
    The substitution makes it hard to compare with my results in December on this workout, but pretty happy anyway, as the last go around at this w/o I had 8 cards left, with both of them being the joker…so even with the substitution, I figure it’s progress. This is a fun workout!

    I just picture wrapped. It’s a good thing that Kevin didn’t book this commercial because it would have conflicted with his trip.
    Anyway sorry about missing my classes this week. (Actually I do, physically feel bad for not getting my fix this week) But, my schedule is back to normal next week.
    If it’s appropriate to do some running to pay for my absences I fully understand. I would have canceled but I was really hoping that I would be finished both Wed and Fri in time to make it.
