Test day….yikes!

So Day 1 of the Level 2 cert was a doozy. We started at 9am and finished at 7pm. Quite a long day. We spent most of it doing practical, hands-on teaching. The first movement I taught was the OHS (which I don’t like). And surprisingly enough, I did pretty good on it.

Not so good on the second one. I taught the SDHP, but wasn’t relentless enough on certain people. I’d let them get away with some things that weren’t quite right. I also missed a couple errors that I should have picked up on.

And it went south for my last movement, the push press. I had a brain-fart about the progression, but got back on track after a little reminder. I didn’t feel the flow during the last move, but I got through it.

At the end of each movement, we were debriefed by the trainers on what went well and what needs work. So, needless to say, I’ve learned a lot about my own teaching ability and what I need to fix for today’s test. Today we have some outside participants coming in that we need to teach, so it should be fun.

  1. Outch! You’re making me second guess if I actually want to try it now, lol. Sounds scary… yet all fun at the same time. Good Luck today Kevin. Just do what you do everyday, and you’ll pass with flying colors!

    So I just finished up my evaluations. I ended up teaching the push jerk, deadlift and front squat. The deadlift went very smooth. Felt good about the others. Now, I have to wait 2.5 hours before i find out of I passed. They are SUPER strict on everything, so all I can do now is wait.

    Good time had by all tonight!! Very good atmosphere, had to keep looking to see where Dave had hidden the DJ… it was as though someone was freestylinโ€™ on some turntables… a real underground vibe at CF MCT tonight. So crazy sick that Tyler did the WOD twice and improved on the 2nd round. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Ya Im weird I know just wasent happy with my time and as mentioned above the music was bumping so i just felt like going again, must be having a crossfit dog as a guest, making me want to do more.
