I went to another CrossFit gym today. After visiting, I’ve come to realize how privileged I am to have a great group of people at CrossFit Moncton. I don’t want to name the gym I went to, but I didn’t feel welcome at all. There was a well-known CrossFit personality there who didn’t introduce himself. Only one of the members approached me as I entered the gym. Maybe it’s the LA attitude. I left after 15 minutes of standing around.

On the other side of the spectrum, CrossFit Marina has been like a long-lost family to me. They’ve welcomed me with open arms and I feel very welcome there. Their members are very friendly and inviting and remind me a lot of back home. If any of you get a chance to come to LA, you MUST visit CrossFit Marina.

    Ha…you’ll have to tell me the affiliate. I had a same experience when I was down there, but mine was further north, so I doubt it’s the same.

    And …the gym does look great in Pink!

  6. I’m not sure if Kevin has told you he will be staying in Huntington Beach with us and were going to get Heather a job at Sea World where she will be swimming with the dolphins.

    After using the 50# db twice this week instead of using a 1.5 pood KB…I deciced to place an order for a 1.5 pood KB! πŸ˜€

    I didn’t really enjoy my experience with the DB this week…

    Did someone noticed that it’s the fourth ”girl names” WOD in a row?
    It’s probably because the gym is now paint in ”girly pink”.

    the kettlebells they bring in are in pounds not in poods though pierre. they go up in 5 pound increments. that’s where i got the 25# one for jeanette that’s at the gym too.

    I did the first 6 HSPU with the GREEN+YELLOW BAND…after all with both YELLOWS.

    Those 2 movements are my weaknesses badly…anyways I need to work on it.

    Heather, you kick butt! πŸ™‚ Glad to see you guys are having a great trip.

    It hasn’t been very long since I started, but I’m loving it! I feel so great knowing that I’m challenging my body again. Plus you are a GREAT gang πŸ™‚

    Jackie was tough (especially the pull ups (red band) at the end – I thought my arms were going to fall off!), but I’m happy to have accomplished my first personal best – I did my row in 4 minutes 44 seconds (first time I did it in 5+) Woohoo!!! Not a huge decrease in time, but any decrease is a good decrease πŸ™‚ I finished the whole workout in 12:03 – next time I think I should try 25 lbs on the thrusters instead of just the 15 lbs…

    Oh and I love the new gym colors!! Change is good πŸ™‚
