Pictures are worth a thousand words. But, because we are over-achievers, there are some extra words and videos.
“I was considered “morbidly obese” at 5’1″ and weighing 215lbs when I joined CrossFit Moncton.
Over the past months, I’ve lost 70lbs and have learned to do handstands, deadlifts and so many other things I never thought I’d be able to do. Because of the overwhelming support and encouragement of my CrossFit Moncton coaches, I’m in better shape now than I was in my 20’s. I’m healthy, strong and proud of what I’ve accomplished. The community atmosphere at the gym is incredibly welcoming. You’re not joining a generic gym. Instead, you’re forming connections, making friends and becoming an integral part of a family. Joining CrossFit Moncton been a life changing experience for me.”
“It has changed my life in many ways! I’m healthier, happier, and I’m doing things I never would have been doing otherwise. I feel better than I ever have in my life, and I owe it to CrossFit Moncton and the fantastic coaches there.”
“I remember waking up one morning, and realizing that getting myself out of bed was hard. I was stiff, sore, and even in a little bit of pain. I then realized that I had been feeling that way most every morning for months, possibly longer. It hit me that, at 28, I should not have felt that way. About the same time, two friends were talking about this fun gym they had joined. “You should give it a try!”, they said. I decided that I wasn’t getting any younger, and I had to do something, so why not? And so, I signed up for the Prep Course. My first workout found me in the same mindset I had every other time I’d tried to exercise, wanting to just give up because it was “too hard”, and I was “too out of shape”. But when the coach simply said “you’re not done yet, keep going”, it hit me – maybe I COULD do it. And so, I did. I finished the workout. I was tired, sore, and had to go one step at a time to get up the stairs at home, but I did it. I knew that this was where I needed to be if I was going to make a change, with people who wouldn’t let me give up just because I doubted myself. I’m may not be the fastest, nor the strongest. I am frequently a sweaty heap on the floor at the end of a workout. But then I pick myself up, and find myself surrounded by other people just like myself, hands ready to high-five me. Now, I wake up and spring out of bed, and excitedly check the WOD, ready to be challenged yet again.”
“I didn’t walk into CrossFit Moncton until I was 49 years old and really overweight. To say that I should have stuck out like a sore thumb is an understatement and yet the trainers and athletes were welcoming and accepting in ways I would not have predicted. Through their encouragement, programing and insistence that I could succeed, they took the “can’t” right out of my vocabulary! And that’s carried over to every area of my life – family, health, work and play – in ways I didn’t even realize I needed. Along the way I have become stronger, faster and found a better me. I’ve also lost a boatload of weight. CrossFit Moncton is for everyone, no experience required. But one piece of advice before you start – Get a good “before” picture, you’re going to need it!”
“CrossFit Moncton has been a game changer for me. I began as an occasional runner who never lifted weights, to someone who hates to miss a workout and craves the rush of weight lifting. Oh, and I still get to run – just faster! In less than 2 years my stamina, coordination and overall strength have improved to levels I never would have imagined. I have CrossFit Moncton to thank for that! The coaches and members here have an ability to motivate and challenge you to push yourself to the next level, even if you didn’t think it was possible. I have successfully changed my lifestyle to include working out and eating properly, all thanks to CrossFit Moncton and their amazing staff.”
“I started Crossfit at the age of 59. I had never done any real exercise other than a 30-minute treadmill walk. With great fear and trepedatiion I entered the gym and quickly realized I could not do even one of the moves. Kevin told me he would guide me through and scale every move for me. One year later, I became a Level One Certified Trainer. I could deadlift 170 pounds. I can run, skip, press, clean and jerk, do pushups, pullups, and situps. Crossfit has changed my life by making me a much healthier and fitter person. The feeling of family at this gym in unmatched. Even though I am by far the senior member, everyone makes me feel welcomed. All the members cheer me on and give me great encouragement. Crossfit Moncton with great coaching and great members changes lives.”
“Joining CrossFit Moncton has been the best decision I have ever made. At 42, never would I have taught I would feel better, be happier, stronger and have so much energy compared to my younger years. Even my flexibility is continuing to improve. I am eating 100% better as well. This is all due to the great support awaiting you when you step through those doors.”
