You’re at a BBQ. You’re asked “hamburger or hotdog?” Which do you pick?

Every minute on the minute for 30 minutes:
1 Ground-to-Overhead

This may look familiar. Last Friday, we did the same thing with power cleans. Today, we get to try it with the snatch. This is any style (power, squat, split) as long as it starts from the ground. Great practice before the Open!

  6. QOD: Depends. Is there cheese available? If yes, burger. If no, hotdog.

    Mobility + Cookie

    Went with split snatches today. Started at 65 and made it to 170# (which would be a PR for that style)
    Failed 175 twice, dropped to 155, and started squat snatching.
    155-165-175-185-195(F)-195(so damn close)-195 (PR!!!!)

    Cashout – celebration cookie and got to present mom with her 1000 classes!

    Did powers up to 125#, 140 x5 would be a pr for reps. Got under the bar on all fails but didn’t get my head through

  9. QOD: it totally depends on if there is cheese or not. If there is cheese, burger for sure. No cheese, I’ll take a hot dog.

    WOD with power snatches
    Went from 15# to 65#. Still trying to put together all the pieces of the form. Buying myself a stick this weekend to keep practicing!

    Plan of attack on this one was to power snatch, then squat snatch same # before moving on/up in weight.
    35-45-55-65-75# I didn’t move much in weights but the squat snaches felt good at 75# so I’m happy with that.

  13. Made it up to 165# then failed a lift and went back down to 155# for 2 lifts then 135# for final 7.

    95/115/135/145/155/160/160/165/170/170/175/175f/175 /180 /185 /185 /185 /185 /190f /190 /190 /190 /195 /195f/195 /200 /200f/200 /205f/ 205f didntd get my head through either of the 205 lifts.

    1 Ground-to-Overhead (Power Snatches mostly)
    40 to 75#. Was too much of a chicken to try 80# even though I did like 15 reps at 75#

    WOD: kept it light for the first 15 reps to practice my catch in the squat. Took the last 15 reps to chase a PR . Finished the 30 mins with 185#.

    Stayed after class to get a PR at 205# !

    Pretty happy since pre-pregnancy snatch was only 60# or 65#.

    I tried a few squat snatches as I had never done any yet. The rest were power snatches.

    45-65-65 snatch-65 snatch-65 snatch(X)-65-65 snatch-70 snatch(X)-70 snatch(X)-65-75-75-75-80-80-80-85-85-85-95-95-95-100-100-115-120-120-125.

    PR – power snatch 125#
    PR – squat snatch 65#

    I need to practice this a lot more… my shoulders still don’t feel right when doing the movement.
